August Pt. 2: E come l’anno scorso (e quello prima, e quello prima ancora, e quello prima..)

Some days it’s just not about the numbers. Just good people and time well spent.

A wholesome 48 hours away in Bournemouth with the @saltyboysac, and watching some of the guys race at the @on squad race (a somewhat controversial race), was exactly what was needed. A few sea dips, some runs, plenty of laughs, and a few pints that definitely counted towards recovery... probably.

A huge thank you to @precisionfandh for inviting us down to their HQ for some sweat testing. Understanding how much sodium we lose in training and races (turns out I’m a moderately salty sweater), why replacing it matters, and how to build an effective hydration strategy was invaluable knowledge. Having personalised insights and their advice was hugely appreciated.

It was great to get some of the salty boys together, step away from the usual training for a day, and remember why we do this in the first place.

As always, take the pursuit seriously, but don’t take yourself too seriously.

Life behind the lens lately. It's been great to do some stuff for fun and other bits professionally.

I love what I do and I think that balance of work and play if the only way to keep that passion going

Another year around the sun. This one has been so different, so special. The last birthday before my life feels truly complete — because in just three weeks, I’ll be meeting my daughter.

I’m beyond grateful for the memories of these past 12 months, for the incredible friends who lift me up, the loving family who supports me, and the caring partner I get to build my life with.

This year has been full of love, growth, and gratitude — and next year will be even more magical with my little girl by my side.

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes and for being part of my journey. Lots of love from me to you 💛

last one and I’ll stop going on and on about this (until we do it again, that is) 🏴🏴🇫🇷

when @formysponsors messaged me a few months back to say he was looking for someone to join @saltyboysac in their attempt to podium @thespeedproject chx I said yes without asking a single question.

it was a journey, but I loved every single bit of it - from the moment we set off from Chamonix at 4 am in a chaotic scramble, through the quiet night, up and down actual bloody mountains, through cities and along windy roads, all the way to running into the sea in Marseille 30 hours and 30 minutes later.

it’s one thing to say that you want to win, and I never doubted that we could, but it still blows my mind a bit that we actually pulled it off. it didn’t all exactly go to plan, but I honestly couldn’t have ever asked for a better group of people to do it with ❤️

friends and memories for a lifetime 🧂

(special thanks to @benroach for reminding me that I “thrive on feeling horrendous” when I needed it the most 😂)

Really felt at home when visiting @midnightrunnerslondon for some reason…
Happy season kick-off, #ravensflock 😈
Ft. A related throwback to when @vanldorsey ‘s high school classmates recognized me in an English pub during an Oct ‘23 work trip

From the mountains to the sea

The final stretch was a stressful one. Runners gave it everything on very tired legs, Jinny heroically dealt with the chaotic Marseille traffic, and the rest of crew waited nervously on the beach - champagne ready

All the runners joined together for the last sprint into the sea as Salty Boys AC became winners of TSP CHX ‘25 🥇

Hugs, tears, and high fives followed. Even Matt showed a hint of emotion

Time to celebrate (i.e., fall asleep into our beers)
