This weekend I spent providing sports massages for the runners at the Endure 24 event.
It was one of the most challenging and fun events of the year.
We had rain and wind for most of it, but that didn’t stop anyone, adapted and soldiered on.
One of the most touching moments was after the event when a runner came running into arms to thank me for what she said ‘saving her life!’, she basically came to me at 8am and during treatment said she thought she may have an acute injury which may have ended up with her forfeiting her last laps. I treated her and found less serious issues which I was able to assist with relieving and told her to rest for the 2 hrs she had between the next lap. The results were her input in the team achieving 2nd place in their group. Pic at the end of video!
Well done to all runners, they really are a different breed! Tough people!

Happy Global running Day!

It’s pretty hard to only share a few pics to show what running means to you and I’ve met so many of you already, but ig wouldn’t allow me to post more than 20 😫😂

Running to me has more than one meaning ….

I love running alone for headspace and me time

I love running with friends to keep the easy runs ‘easy’ and more enjoyable.

I love chasing a pb sometimes

I love running just because ❤️
I love supporting brands I believe in

I even love a parkrun now (Never thought I’d say that 😂)
My favourite to date is running with Ruby and running her first half marathon ❤️

If you love what you do, it shows and people will want to be apart of it too 🙌🙌

Thank you #runningcommunity#globalrunningday

With the London Marathon just a few weeks away, the @womensrunninguk marathon issue is officially on newsstands, and my article, Just 26.2, is in there!

I absolutely loved writing this piece. I had the chance to speak to such a brilliant mix of people - everyday runners (including my lovely sister), physiologists from Getahead, coaches, and running content creators - all of who helped explore whether the marathon still carries the same weight it once did in a world where it feels like everyone on social media is running one. (Spoiler: it absolutely still does 👏🏻)

Thank you to Esther Newman for the commission, and a big shoutout to everyone who contributed and helped bring this piece to life 🩷

Saturday session done. Now counting down the number of runs left on Kiwi soil on one hand before flying to Tokyo and meeting up with these ladies (jetting in from the UK and Canada), who’ll also be looking to claim their 6th star! At least three of us are in the same start corral, too 🙌🏼 Got me reflecting on how running brought us together …
.
Run community pals from one of the OG online run groups, @runvickirun and I had a great 26.2 in Chicago (2019), celebrating with some super strong post-marathon G&Ts. I then created a pre-NYC (2022 - the hot one!) start village close call for her 🫢 Seems fitting we wrap our 6 star journey together. I have Vicki to thank for finding my ever patient coach @runningjo10k, too!
.
It’s through these squares that @clemmo_runs and I discovered we both had London (2022 - an October one) and NYC (2022) on the cards, five weeks apart. Our first F2F meet was completely by chance, loitering in the NYCM start village. A few years later, we unknowingly beelined down Boylston towards the Boston (2025) finish line, side-by-side! Then laughed about it together in Cape Cod a few days later 🙌🏼
.
And @s_laberge27? My Canadian cuzzie met her through their work run group (described her as a “one woman wellness department”), mentioned I had run Berlin (2018) when Sarah said she would be in 2019, and put us in touch. While Chicago 2020 was canned for us (and everyone else), we caught up in London over the years and both ran London 2024.
.
Because I choose to take on only 1-2 marathons a year, each training block is highly memorable and against a backdrop of quite different life circumstances. This one’s been no different, and will represent another milestone - the 6 star one nothwithstanding. Undercooked, but as ready as I can be …!
