🗿📡🪐💫 @rush2theunknown DJ mix and interview for Juno up now on @junodaily (link in bio!) rush2theUnknown is a project that was born a few years back with @pacificheightsnz and I with an aim to try and recapture the feeling that we had as teenagers having our minds blown by jungle / early drum ’n’ bass and the rush of dubplate culture that to us at the time living in New Zealand would be like hearing into the future. Features some of our favourite artists, tracks and labels from the past, present and features tracks taken from our new EP “Ancient / Future” out now on Berlin based @awkwardlysocialberlin and available digital and vinyl via @junorecords @redeyereords @hhvrecords @hardwax @furtherrecords @decks.de @_otakurecords @deejay.de @tenampamx TRACKLISTING: Ryuichi Sakamoto – Rain Song (@midiinc) rush2theUnknown – Göbleki Tepi (Awkwardly Social) 4Hero – Wrinkles In Time (@Reinforced Records / @chapterroad ) @Pessimistmusic – E-Style (@ilian_tape) @Hooaavi – Tanto (@balmat.cat cat) @aya_yco – That Hyde Trakk (@hyperdubrecords ) rush2theUnknown – Terraforming (unreleased) Haruomi Hosono – Ohenro-san (??????? edit) @Hooaavi – After a Day of Silence (Peak Oil @askyourpillow ) rush2theUnknown – Zuio-ji (@diskotopia ) @Photek – Seven Samurai (Photek Productions) @DemdikeStare x Dolo Percussion – DOLO DS 1 (DDS) rush2theUnknown – Palenque (Awkwardly Social) Nasty Habits – Here Come The Drums (Reinforced Records) 4Hero – No Imitation (Reinforced Records) Studio Pressure – Jump Mk II (Certificate 18) Code of Practise – Can We Change The Future (@Klute Remix) rush2theUnknown – Ōmeyōcān (Awkwardly Social) rush2theUnknown – Cats Eye (Awkwardly Social) The image is Pillar 43 at Göbekli Tepe in southeast Turkey also known as the “Vulture Stone”. Better late than never, we’re incredibly excited to finally announce a very special upcoming release on our label. One of the most rewarding aspects of music is its ability to create meaningful connections across borders and cultures. Through that shared language, we connected with @rush2theunknown , a Japan- and New Zealand-based duo with roots in the foundation New Zealand jungle / drum & bass scene, and it’s a true privilege to now be releasing their music. Ancient / Future is a journey through time, influence, and emotion. Drawing from the duo’s diverse musical backgrounds and inspirations, the EP bridges ancient echoes with futuristic sound design, balancing antediluvian nostalgia and far-future energy in equal measure. DJ pick-ups and support from the likes of @anzieanz ,@benjib , @courtesy707 , @djflight , @charlie_fracture , @itoamusic , @marylou.dj , @sinistarr_ and many more. AWK007, “Ancient / Future“ by rush2theUnknown will be released on Friday, July 3rd, 2026. Much love, and we hope you enjoy the music!
