From the files of Aaron:
Unisound Club
November 1991
Reading, PA

Unisound was a legendary, short-lived, all-ages underground music venue and skate sanctuary located at 400 N. 8th Street in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Operated by Jake Hain, The Unsound is famously remembered as highly volatile, incredibly hot, and structurally unsafe, with notoriously raw audio quality.

Despite frequent brawls, its community anthem remained a tongue-in-check “We’re all friends at Unisound.”

Operating in the early 1990s before closing its doors in 1993, the club was a foundational epicenter for the East Coast hardcore, grindcore, punk, and heavy metal music subcultures.

We are lucky to have played this place so many times, connecting with so many bands and friends to this day.

Thanks, Jake!
