Ballots have dropped. The next four years will shape our City’s next century. As a lifelong resident of Laguna Beach, I’d be honored to have your vote on or by November 3.

The history of Laguna is unlike another community. Capturing that history and sharing how it informs my vision for our City’s future was my goal. As the video shows, our history has been shaped by tackling complex problems in bold and unconventional ways.

Thank you to my talented childhood friend Rusty Hunter for filming, directing, editing, and producing this video. Rusty and I grew up together in Solag and he shared the somewhat idyllic childhood that makes a person want to give back to this town. I love seeing how Rusty is putting his own mark on the artistic and environmental character of Laguna Beach. Check out Rusty’s spectacular underwater videos and his own unique voice @rusty_hunter_ .

As Laguna turns 100, I hope you enjoy our history as much as I do. If nothing else, it’s proof that a history degree is good for something.

remember, harbor seals are protected by the MMPA. never touch or interact with a harbor seal. this interaction happened entirely on the seals terms.

This video has been a vision of ours for years, and we finally made it happen. “I Wanna See You” is a love song written for the ocean, inspired by Sunset Cliffs in San Diego...the place where we spend our time boating, surfing, diving, and spearfishing. We wanted this video to capture our connection to the ocean and the beauty, freedom, and adventure that Sunset Cliffs gives us.

Thank you to everyone who came to last night’s Meet and Greet at Mozambique. It was a fun mix of people, representing different generations and perspectives – all sharing a love for this town. We talked about efforts to retain our local ER, fire prevention, public safety, government efficiency, challenges for small businesses, and concerts in the Irvine Bowl.

It meant a lot to me that many childhood friends were there and that my youngest brother @willie.rounaghi gave my introduction. Thank you to Ivan and Ivan’z House for your hospitality.

Thanks to all for a great weekend at Aliso Beach. The Vic is another iconic Laguna tradition and example of how visionary Laguna legends have shaped this town through innovation.

Laguna local Tex Haines founded @victoriaskimboards in the 70s. What started as a scrappy contest with a handful of competitors in the 80s has grown into the longest-running, most prestigious skimboarding championship in the world. This weekend’s contest – the 49th Annual Vic – listed more than 150 amateur and pro riders from all over globe.

That's Laguna: something homegrown that grew into something the whole world watches. It's the same spirit driving how we're building toward our Centennial in 2027, taking what's uniquely ours and investing in it so it lasts another hundred years.
