What if the wisest advice you need today comes from the girl you used to be?

Perhaps growing older isn’t just about what we learn, but what we must remember not to lose.

If your younger self could write you a letter today, what would she say? 🤎

My reflections in Raising Women Magazine’s @rwimagazine International Day of the Girl Child edition.

Let's sit with girls from different parts of the world.

And you'll hear the same story.

Too young to be a bride, but told it's culture.
Too young to be a mother, but told it's fate.

On this International Day of the Girl Child 2026, we are not just celebrating girls, we are choosing them.

A girl should be in school, not in a marriage.
She should have dreams, not duties forced on her.

End child marriage. Invest in girls' rights.

Because when you invest in a girl, you invest in a future that benefits us all.

One of the strangest things about writing a book is realizing that, eventually, it no longer belongs only to you.

People bring their own stories to it. They see things you didn’t realize you had written. They find words for feelings they’ve carried for years. And suddenly, your book becomes part of someone else’s journey.

I’m so honoured to be featured in the latest issue of Raising Women Magazine @rwimagazine, where we talked about Beauty, Brains & The Bag, what publishing has taught me, the conversations the book has sparked, and why I believe women should never have to choose between being beautiful, intelligent, and ambitious.

A huge thank you to the Raising Women team for this beautiful feature and for the incredibly thoughtful review of the book in the same issue. 🤍

Here’s to more conversations that remind women they never have to shrink one part of themselves to make another acceptable.

Beauty, Brains & The Bag is available on Selar and Amazon (Link in my bio). 📖✨

In Seoul, I stepped into a space where retail dissolves into art, and imagination takes the lead.

Haus Nowhere @hausnowhere is not simply visited… it is experienced.
Gentle Monster @gentlemonster does not design eyewear. It designs moments.

And because no encounter with beauty ends without indulgence, I left with a fragrance for my husband, whose appreciation for exquisite scents is, at this point, a discipline.

Can I ask you something honestly…

When was the last time you paused without feeling guilty?

Not scrolling. Not working. Not planning the next thing.

Just… present.

We’re hosting The Exquisite Club Experience: Sip & Savour, an intimate afternoon of tea, guided reading, calm conversations, and a gentle relaxation session.

It’s not a networking event.
It’s a reset.

If you’ve been feeling stretched, tired, or quietly craving something softer… this may be your moment.

Seats are limited by design.

You can DM us for your tickets or use this link 👉🏾

In 2026, we are naming what has been invisible for generations.

The First Daughter Agenda is Raising Women Initiative’s long-term commitment to reframe how women’s rights, girlhood, and unpaid care work are understood in Africa.

Across many African homes, first daughters grow up too early. They carry care, responsibility, and emotional labour long before adulthood. This burden follows them into their education, careers, relationships, and leadership journeys, yet it is rarely studied, recognised, or addressed by policy.

Over the next 24–36 months, we are centring this experience through:
• Rigorous research across Nigerian and African contexts
• A book that blends data with lived stories
• Policy dialogues and public webinars
• Knowledge convenings and university conversations
• A Raising Girls Summit that equips girls early with language, agency, and choice

This agenda connects girlhood socialisation to women’s economic outcomes, links unpaid care work to national development gaps, and places the household at the centre of gender justice conversations.

The First Daughter Agenda is about recognition, reform, and re-imagining how societies value girls, women, and care itself.

This is our 2026 direction.
This is the work we are inviting you into.
