The Sisters of Raised Pinay Generation 4 were originally set to lay down their stories in ritual offering for our greater community to bear witness to on the weekend of April 25, 2020.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we found ourselves resetting, and being invited to have our Sisterhood Circle hold us in our healing and grounding in this extraordinary time.

We put aside our original stories that we had been digging into and shaping to share with our communities and through the decolonization/ ancestral re-membering work and storytelling healing rituals we were being invited into, through the guidance of Jana Lynne (JL) Umipig, we used this time to rise to the challenges we were facing in our homes and in our relations with family, partners, communities, and ourselves.

On June 14, 2020, 7-930PM ET, through a Sacred Online Screening, we will be sharing Lessons of Survival, that connect us back to the survival stories of our families, that raised us up as Pinays, and how those lessons were necessary to re-member and apply in this time.
///
We invite our Pinay/Pilipinx Sisters in the Global Diaspora to share a Survival Lessons they learned being raised a Pinay through this photo campaign. - Post photo of you in your home in pandemic, - With the photo share a Lesson that you learned from your family, in your home being raised Pinay.
- In the caption share a story/memory about that lessons who you learned it from and how you learned it
- Tag @raisedpinay / #raisedpinay, #pinaylessonsofsurvival, #RPlessonsofsurvival

This is not just a Writing Workshop, this is a beginning, a communal planting of seeds that will grow into a garden of Pilipinx Sisterhood.
This is how we begin our process to Raise Pinays in their reflection, their opening and their revolution of self in relation to Sisters. Healing happens in community and sisterhood building is crucial to decolonization work. When we support our Womxn we support our creators, nurturers and continuation of family and community.
This is the process of how we do this Sacred Collective Work:

1) We begin with a Creation Circle in the form of a creation workshop. Here we plant those seeds of understanding self through ancestral re-membranes and colonization.

2) Sisters answer a call to continue beyond that initial reflection- to deepen, to explore, to take a risk on self, to become. By submitting a formed written piece that then is configured into a ceremony sharing to be prepared for our community to be invited into.

3) The Sisters spend 2-3 months in Communion- beginning with a Decolonization and Ancestral Re-membrance School through the guidance and teaching of Jana Lynne “JL” Umipig and followed by rehearsals that focus on each Womxn being held in sisterhood to re-member.

4) Sisters open their circle to community, culminating in a sharing with family, friends and Kapwa to re-member in nearing witness to the reflection held up by our Sisters.

And then the work continues held by all who have been in relation to the process and all who will come into their lives and theirs and theirs.

Raised Pinay is not just a show/production. It is a decolonial process of uplifting expression of healing and power- it is a space where Sisterhood becomes medicine for our wounds and where we re-member together the fullness of who we are to rise to the all we are becoming.
