POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s now been just over two weeks since High Range was released into the world… 8 years in the making & the payoff has been worth every day spent creating, moulding & refining it into a body of work I’m truly proud of.

While songwriting isn’t exactly the most lucrative career path these days, it’s rewarding in ways money simply can’t buy. Through a lot of self-reflection and pondering over the process, I’ve learned so much about myself, the people around me, and the world. I honestly can’t imagine where I’d be or what I’d do without music.

My wish is that everyone finds something in life that makes them feel that exact same way - whether it makes them money or not.

I have a few very special people to thank:

To my album launch band, @mick_manley @deanne_muzz @adamsofo @lukethomasherbert @stevewestnedge & Matt Crawford: For bringing these songs to life on stage. Your interpretation of the music brought me so much joy - it’s was an absolute pleasure. 🎤🎸🥁

To Brett ( @brettbamford ): Sound engineer, lighting operator, handsome fella, & all-round awesome human. Your resilience in the face of challenging circumstances is admirable. Not once were you phased. (Ha! Sound guy pun intended.) 🎚️👂

To Rachel ( @elfymama ): For MCing our pre-show chat & that legendary solo cowbell performance. I will forever be haunted by it’s ringing. 🎙️

To Ryan ( @ryancuerden ): For these incredible 35mm film photos. Capturing these moments on a medium that relies on equal parts skill, luck, & faith in your craft is no small feat. 📸

To Michael ( @mick_manley ): I couldn’t have asked for a better friend to trust with co-producing & mixing. Your contributions are all throughtout the DNA of this entire project. Thank you for pushing and challenging me. 🎸🎧

To my Mum & Dad: Without your encouragement from day one, I never would have stuck with music for this long. I owe so much to you both. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

& lastly, to my favourite person in the world, my best friend & fiancée Emma ( @emmafrances_ ). You are the BOMB. The BEE’S KNEES. The CHEESE to my RICE CRACKER. You inspire me everyday. I love you so much & can’t wait to marry you. 💛

Stream my album please - I beg you. 🥺🤣

It may have been an unexpectedly rainy and cool November day with coats on and the fires burning at the reception, but there was so much brightness from the beaming smiles of the most wonderful couple, as well as the colours of the dresses and flowers, that the weather didn’t really dampen the mood at all 🧡💛💚🤍

Are you having a church ceremony for your wedding? I highly recommend the addition of flowers and ribbons to the ends of the pews. It gives such a beautiful frame to your aisle as you walk down and the photos look gorgeous 🤍

@ryancuerden shared some beautifully captured film photo’s he took during his recent stay.

“There’s a slowness and ease to life on the peninsula, which I think compliments the nature and processes of film photography. There’s a real joy in slowing down, noticing, and taking in your surroundings in this way.

After many sunrises and full days of exploring and shooting, it was certainly nice to retreat into the warmth of the cottage, for dinner, and a cup of tea in front of the fire.

A handful of days is never enough to truely experience a place but the snapshot I got was certainly memorable. I hope to be back sometime soon, camera in hand.“

“Everything in our modern world is so fast paced and ephemeral and I don’t think we take the enough time to really appreciate things. Its cliché to say, but I love shooting film because you CAN take your time. Further, the “challenges” of shooting film, such as cost per exposure, film sensitivity, shot limits, and camera limitations push us towards a greater level of artistic expression and technical proficiency. A more thoughtful approach to photo-taking - that’s why I love film.”
