POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Laughing again doesn’t mean you stopped missing them.

A good day doesn’t erase what happened. A beautiful moment doesn’t cancel your sadness. Feeling hopeful doesn’t mean the loss mattered any less.

I’m learning to let joy visit without asking it to explain what it’s doing here.

Maybe we can miss what was and still make room for what is.

You don’t have to hide the hardest parts of your life to appreciate the beautiful ones.

You can get dressed, laugh with your friends, build something meaningful, and still cry on the drive home.

Those moments can all be honest.

That’s part of why I named this podcast Scars in Satin. Because what looks beautiful on the outside can hold a story much deeper than anyone realizes.

You can be the person everyone calls and still wonder who you’re allowed to call when you fall apart.

I created Scars in Satin because I wanted somewhere we could tell the truth about that. Somewhere you don’t have to make your pain smaller to belong.

You can be grateful and grieving. Strong and exhausted. Hopeful and still hurting.

There is room for all of you here.

“I was hurt by you” and “I miss you” can exist at the same time.

You can miss the sound of their voice, the familiar routines, the version of the future you pictured and still remember the ways you were hurt.

Missing someone doesn’t erase what happened. And acknowledging the hurt doesn’t mean the love was never real.

Sometimes healing is learning to hold both truths without asking one to cancel the other.

For anyone who has ever smiled while falling apart—this is for you.

Introducing Scars in Satin, a podcast for the conversations we usually whisper. The grief no one sees. The moments that make us question our worth. The messy, beautiful, painful process of becoming.

As a wedding photographer and oncology nurse, I’ve witnessed joy and heartbreak, sometimes in the very same room. And in my own life, I’ve learned how much it means to have someone see you when you barely recognize yourself.

Sometimes, there are no perfect words. But there is someone willing to listen. Someone who lets you tell the truth without asking you to make it prettier.

That’s why I created this space.

Here, you don’t have to have the lesson yet. You can bring the questions, the faith, the grief, and the hope you’re still learning to hold.

Scars in Satin launches October 13, with new episodes every Tuesday. 🎙️

Follow along for the launch, and share this with someone who needs a place to feel seen.

You’re home here. 🤍
