40 today. 🙏

This birthday feels a little different.

This past year has asked a lot of me physically and mentally, and at times it’s required more of my energy and attention than I would have chosen. But it’s also given me perspective — on resilience, patience, gratitude, and just how precious it is to feel fully present in your own life.

And through all of it, I keep coming back to how blessed I am.

For my family. My friends. This incredible community around me and the connection felt. For a body that, despite everything it’s been through, still carries me up mountains. For the lessons hidden inside the harder seasons. And for a faith that reminds me there is purpose even in the chapters we wouldn’t have written for ourselves.

40 feels much more like the beginning of something even greater.

There’s still a mountain ahead of me this year (back surgery #4), but for the first time in a while, I can see clearly what’s waiting on the other side. I’m genuinely excited for this next chapter — to heal, to open up more, to connect more deeply, to laugh more, and to experience life with a little less weight and a lot more freedom.

Today, I’m just so grateful to be here. Grateful for the journey. Grateful for my people. And grateful for everything that is still unfolding.

Here’s to 40 — and to what feels like the beginning of something really beautiful. 🙏

This week on Well Said: how you can communicate through what you wear (and what this can teach us about ourselves).

@ryyywood has spent 16 years building product for Urban Outfitters, The North Face, and Quince. His argument: most of us say we feel most ourselves doing art or music or dancing, but that's a sliver of your week. You're dressed every hour you're awake. He calls it microdosing the us-ness.

In this episode of Well Said with Ryan:

• Why the volume on "you" gets turned down with age
• What he does with clothing people inherit and can't wear
• Why everyone at the gym looks the same once the logos come off

“It’s giving Mother” 🎂♍️🎉✨

SMACK in the middle of postpartum, this years birthday celebration started at 4am 🍼😴 followed by a slow drive out to the beach for some self care, baby baths, a rare “everything” shower, and friends coming over to help with dirty dishes and take out my trash and fill my house with flowers 💐🌸🌷so I could have a cozy dinner party with some of my coziest souls.

Several times I thought “maybe we’re just too exhausted for any celebration”. But then I remembered I can ask for help and let my people love on me. And god did they give me bursts of life! 💥

I’m in awe of my community and the way they continue to pour in to our family with such tenderness and generosity. It ABSOLUTELY takes a village and we sure won the lottery with our village near and far 🙏🙏🙏
