Behind every market is a lot of work, in every kind of way.

A little appreciation for the growers and vendors who keep showing up for local food and goods around Cincinnati and NKY. Are you a vendor - what’s your WHY? Are you a shop-local supporter - what vendors do you always look for at the markets?

This Saturday marks my last shift of the season at the wonderfully vibrant @lexfarmmkt . I've always looked forward to spending my weekends with y'all, and I appreciate being able to be a part of so many folks' morning ritual. We'll continue setting up until Halloween so make sure to keep saying hey to the rest of the famn damily (new spooky croissant just dropped btw).

Visiting the bouquet bar at the farmers market?

🌸Here’s a few tips that I use to make a balanced, beautiful bouquet every time🌸

🪲start with your fuller and greenery, this gives you a base to work with

🪲add your stems in an “X” shape to start with. Rotate your entire arrangement and keep adding to keep the front and back balanced

🪲add some height to your bouquet with a “spike” flower like gladiolus, snapdragons, or plume celosia

🪲keep your focal balanced through your arrangement so one side doesn’t feel heavier than the other

💐 A farmers market trip isn’t just about what’s for dinner.

Flower stands are a favorite stop because they’re always changing with the season.

Every visit offers something a little different, and bringing home a fresh bouquet is an easy way to support local growers while adding a little color to your home.

What’s the first thing you shop for when you visit the market?

@findlaymarket is my favorite Sunday morning activity!

1st stop is always @makersbakersco now all the sandwiches are sooo good! Today i got the Italian Amor the bred was so soft and filled with herbs😍💗
2nd stop was @s.avsgarden . I was seeing so many girls walking around with beautiful bouquets so I HAD to find them and it was worth the hunt 💗

3rd stop @jays_nyam_and_jam . I crave these wings 24/7 perfectly sweet to salty flavor + if you ask for that white sauce on the side it’s like a nice tangy savory flavor that makes the wings even better.

What are your favorite things to try at Findlay?
