Meet your Lavender Evolutions team: we are are a collective of organizers, cultural workers, artists, educators, and friends dedicated to cultivating spaces for the Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color of Washington DC & Piscatway Land.

From parties to book club to soccer & beyond, we believe in spaces that reflect us and our community's vast range of interests & needs. The past four years wouldn’t have been possible without the collaboration of fellow QTBIPOC organizers, creatives, businesses, and volunteers to curate unique events to enrich the community with pop-up & ongoing third spaces. We are Lavender & YOU are Lavender 💜

We are constantly looking to work with you on creating one-of-a-kind experiences, and we welcome promoting our peers' events and mutual aid requests. “Kevin Patrick Sullivan, better known as Field Medic, burst onto the indie folk/bedroom pop scene 11 years ago with his debut album, light is gone. He’s continued steadily releasing music (a whopping eight albums in the decade since), leading up to his most recent, last year’s surrender instead. On the 2025 album, Sullivan reflects on the breakneck pace of fighting to survive, let alone “make it” as a musician today. The album’s closing track, “the journey to the center of nothing,” directly channels Sullivan’s cynicism with lyrics like “Your eyes open wide/ Realize it’s all a con/ Destroying yourself for a pat on the arm/ From some artless corporate fuck who’s never writ a song/ Who tells you you’ve got it going on.” The truth of the matter is that Sullivan does have it going on. More people should hear and think through his poetic reflections on the state of the industry, whether you’re a musician, critic, or listener.”
