My GLP-1 progress is holding steady—and I’m good with that.

Because the goal was never just to make the number on the scale smaller.

And if you’re using a GLP-1, don’t make the mistake of thinking that losing weight means you don’t need to work out.

This is exactly when strength training matters.

We want to protect and build lean muscle, support strong bones, maintain strength and mobility, improve metabolic health, and get all those incredible mental-health benefits that come from moving our bodies.

Especially as we age, muscle matters.
Strength matters. Bone health matters. Mental health matters. Longevity matters.

A GLP-1 can be a tool in the process—but it can’t lift the weights for you. 😉

So stop chasing skinny.

Chase STRONG.
Chase HEALTHY.
Chase a body that can keep doing the things you love for decades to come.

Now get your butt in the gym. 😂💪🔥

Consistency wins.

Not because every workout is perfect…
Not because every day feels easy…

But because showing up—again and again—is what changes your body.

Progressive overload isn’t about lifting the heaviest weight in the gym.
It’s about becoming a little stronger than you were last week.

One more rep.
Five more pounds.
Better form.
More confidence.

That’s how muscle is built.
That’s how metabolism improves.
That’s how strength carries into everyday life.

Find a style of training you genuinely enjoy, because the best workout program is the one you’ll keep doing.

Next week I’ll be sharing some of the workouts I’m currently following! 💪

If you’re looking for this style of progressive overload training in a fun group setting, follow @s2f1team We use these same principles in our classes every day.

Have an amazing weekend, everyone! ☀️

HYROX Primed Thursdays. 🔥

Every Thursday & Saturday we train with a Hyrox purpose.

Whether you’re preparing for HYROX Anaheim this December or simply looking to become a stronger, more resilient athlete, this workout is designed to build the qualities that matter on race day.

Today’s workout focused on:

🏃‍♀️ Engine Building – High-intensity SkiErg and RowErg intervals improve cardiovascular endurance so you can maintain a strong pace throughout the race.

🛷 Race-Specific Strength – Sled pushes and sandbag step-ups develop the lower-body power and muscular endurance needed to conquer HYROX stations.

💪 Functional Power – Dumbbell clusters, kettlebell deadlifts, and wall balls build total-body strength while training you to perform under fatigue.

⚡ Athletic Conditioning – Lateral jump burpees improve agility, coordination, and the ability to recover quickly between efforts.

🏁 Running Under Fatigue – Every lap teaches your body to transition efficiently between strength and cardio—one of the biggest challenges in HYROX competition.

HYROX isn’t just about being strong.
It’s about staying strong while your heart rate is elevated.

That’s exactly what we’re training for.

Anaheim…we’re coming. 💥

55 and alive. ❤️

Today was a 3-mile track run, and in just 2 weeks I’ll be crossing the finish line of my 10K in San Francisco.

I’m down 6.8 pounds in 7 weeks, but this journey is about so much more than the number on the scale.

Yes, GLP-1 helps.
Yes, HRT helps.

But neither one runs the miles, lifts the weights, chooses the protein, gets to bed on time, or wakes up grateful for another day.

That’s where consistency comes in.

One unexpected gift has been the quieting of the “alcohol noise.” The constant thoughts, cravings, and negotiations that used to take up space in my head just aren’t there like they used to be. That freedom feels every bit as good as the weight loss.

At 55, I’m stronger, healthier, and happier than I’ve been in years. I’m learning that aging isn’t about slowing down—it’s about showing up for yourself every single day.

Here’s to strong bodies, healthy minds, big goals, and a life you love.

55 and alive… and just getting started. ✨🏃‍♀️💪

High-Protein Biscuits & Gravy 🍳💪

Comfort food… but make it menopause & muscle friendly 😉

At almost 55, my focus is:
✔️ strength
✔️ muscle retention
✔️ hormone health
✔️ longevity
✔️ fueling my workouts properly

Yes, I’m on hormone therapy and tirzepatide — but I still prioritize REAL food and enough protein to support muscle while losing fat.

One of the biggest mistakes women make on GLP-1s is under-eating protein and losing muscle along with body fat.

This breakfast was:
High protein ✔️
Comforting ✔️
Balanced ✔️
Actually satisfying ✔️

Recipe

* 1 package Trader Joe’s turkey sausage patties
* 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese
* 1/4 cup Trader Joe’s canned coconut cream
* handful spinach
* garlic powder
* onion powder
* salt & pepper
* 1 Trader Joe’s biscuit
* 1 medium egg on top

Cook sausage and crumble.
Add coconut cream + cottage cheese and stir into a creamy sauce.
Add spinach and seasonings.
Serve over biscuit and top with egg.

Estimated Macros (my serving)

Approx:

* Calories: 500–600
* Protein: 30–38g
* Carbs: 28–35g
* Fat: 22–32g

Women in midlife don’t need to eat tiny salads all day.
We need to build and KEEP muscle. 💪

I’ll be 55 in June… and one thing I’ve learned through menopause, hormone therapy, and the GLP-1 conversation is this:

Women need muscle.

Not just for aesthetics — but for:
✅ longevity
✅ bone density
✅ metabolism
✅ balance
✅ confidence
✅ independence as we age

And power training matters too.

As we age, we naturally lose muscle and explosiveness unless we intentionally train for it.

That’s why my workouts focus on:• strength• power• athletic movement• functional fitness• longevity

Today’s workout 👇

SS1 ×3• Barbell Back Squats ×8• DB Goblet Squats ×10

SS2 ×3• Barbell Bent Over Rows ×8• DB Renegade Rows ×5/5

SS3 ×3• Hip Thrusts ×8• DB Curl to Deadlift ×10

If you’re over 40, over 50, navigating menopause, using hormone therapy, curious about GLP-1s, or simply trying to age stronger…

Try this workout 💪

Save it for later and let me know if you do it 👇
