what does it mean to let your selections go astray, to flirt with people’s minds and leave the room feeling like what’s unfolded before their very eyes was a fever dream? let us solve that dilemma for you for one night, courtesy of seven special selectors, Huriya is Suffyan’s (@s_____ffyan) first residency night at @rasaspace under shutter rhythms, and it sees him open up Floor and invite a trio destined to give you a necessary musical liberation; starting with @liftedtrax’s Dexter Colt (@dextercolt_), and his inimitable love for the deepest sounds with leftfield house, trippy techno and dubbed out frequencies always in rotation, your headliners? @zagareet__’s darling angels, in the form of Yadin Moha (@yadin.moha) and Kugel (@kugel____), back-to-back in a conversation between two kindred spirits that’s long overdue in our lion city. @yadin.moha returns home after steadily pushing fringe sounds and ideas for the last fifteen-odd years, patiently converting one listener at a time by wading in and out of techno, _wave, dub, industrial and other mutant permutations of the 4/4 rhythm. across from him sits seoul’s @kugel____, the @nyapi_seoul & @future_terror selector whose music focuses on each fleeting moment as it is spontaneously created, blending deep, dark textures with whimsical oddity & constantly evolving textures, together, two of asia’s finest set out to turn listeners into believers, one track at a time, @rasaspace has once again made the night ever so sweeter, by bringing in belgium’s Lola Haro (@lolitaharo) for a rendezvous in Hall bound to blur the lines between deep,hypnotic baselines, spectral melodies and energetic drive. joining her, Suffyan’s invited our dearest friends RTJ (@sideo) and Mr Legume (@bryankxe) for a cheeky back-to-back through a flurry of sounds from dub, to broken beats, bass & more; it may get whimsical & hectic, but whatever happens, we’re all for it, a night full of heads in both rooms, carrying these selectors on, and not merely observers, what a beautiful night it will be, don’t you think so? *no phone policy at Floor, live a little, 20th november, @rasaspace - 22:00 to 03:00 🧷 🎫 via link in bio @kugel____ / @toha.ra

WHATS HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND? 🗝️ Friday, 9 October: RASA presents Lil’ Louis (@lillouisofficial) We are honoured to welcome the Founding Father of House Music himself. From DJing his first party at just 12 years old to pioneering edits, organising what is considered the world’s first rave, and releasing the era-defining “French Kiss” (which sold over 6 million copies), Lil’ Louis’ influence on house music is unmatched. A true pioneer, producer, author and director, this is a rare night with living history. Joining him on the Floor are two favourite local selectors: Suffyan (@s_____ffyan) and Xinyi (@limxinnn). Saturday, 10 October: @culturesg Presents Pesta Episode 4: Golden Era of Indo Pop. We’re taking it back to the golden age of Indo Pop. A gentle start to the month follows after weeks of partying, with returning heroes and new guests aplenty. On 22 August, we step outside for the very first edition of Taman RASA, a new series where music, drinks and community come together from afternoon into night. Leading our inaugural gathering is Detroit’s Moodymann in his long-awaited Singapore debut. Through KDJ Records and as one quarter of 3 Chairs, Kenny Dixon Jr. has spent decades redefining house music through soul, jazz, funk and groove—always guided by feeling rather than formula. Joining Moodymann is a lineup that reflects the communities at the heart of Taman RASA. Dean Chew (@funk_bstrd), Daryl Knows (@darylknows), Bobby Obby Obby (@pingpongpanda) Ramesh (@tropikaglobal) and Suffyan (@s_____ffyan) guide the soundtrack from afternoon into evening, while Mismatch and a cast of roller disco performers bring movement and unexpected moments throughout the day.
