Talent and hard work get you in the room, but speaking up is what keeps you at the table.

Despite having incredible ideas, so many high-performing South Asian professionals struggle to speak up in high-stakes meetings. It’s rarely about a lack of intelligence or capability; it’s the fear of judgment, second-guessing every word, and worrying about how we’ll be perceived.

If you’ve ever hesitated before unmuting or holding back in a boardroom full of senior leaders, this feature is for you.

Honored to be featured in the August 2026 issue of Saathee Magazine discussing “How to Speak up Confidently in Rooms That Matter.”

Heritage Dinner at @eatmalpan

☕️ this multi-course, family-style (two of my favorite words btw) dinner highlighted Mal Pan’s refreshed menu and every new bite was so fresh and flavorful!

Founder Andre Lomeli walked us through the menu- filled with cleaner ingredients, seed-free oil cooking and local produce from @boyandgirlfarm

What we tried 👇🏽
- Milpa Escabeche (pickled veggies) on masienda tostadas
- Chiles toreados (shishito & Serrano)
- Cochinita Tortitas (on @eatpizzababy ciabatta)
- Milpa taco (veggie tacos with queso panela)
- Quesaron taco (Rosarito style shrimp taco) with a melted Oaxaca cheese layer 🤤
- Poc Chuc taco (pork taco coming soon)
- Vanilla conchas from @dulcedreamscafe + housemade cafe de olla (a spiced coffee of my DREAMS) such a gorgeous combo

🤌🏽 that’s the chai.

Happy 79th Independence Day to Mere Hindustan!

Originally published in the August 2026 issue of @saatheemagazine, I’m trying something new.

The letter here is fiction, but my granddad, my dada, did board a steamer in the 1940s to leave Karachi (in modern-day Pakistan) for Amdavad, Gujarat, where I was born in 1993, where my family is from.
This is a letter about partition from the only perspective I can imagine: a boy in a fictional Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1948, witnessing the slaughter of his people by sectarian violence in the pages of LIFE Magazine. His Dada is leaving this mythic place, Karachi, without worry or pain, filled with color and light. With a childlike view, he also conveys his isolation, the feeling of being a nobody in the US. Never quite understanding why his grandad would leave a place he's loved and known, with friends and neighbors, to go to a city he has never heard of for a job that might not even work out?

My family moved to the US in 1994. My grandad migrated from Pakistan to India to start anew. This is a letter to Dada about this. The link is in my bio now!

Should I keep on writing historical fiction? Please do let me know, and if there are friends of mine who have family partition stories, I would love to hear what you know!

#carolinaweddingshow #weddingexpo #2027bride #weddinghacks

Prioritize Big ticket vendors based on booking timelines. Imagine having a direct gateway to every single vendor you need to build your dream wedding all in one single afternoon. That is the power of the Carolina Wedding Show. 💫

But if you’ve never actually been to a wedding as a guest, navigating the floor can feel overwhelming.

Here’s how to strategize the room like a seasoned pro:

Focus your physical energy on the core categories first venues, planners and caterers. These are vendors that book out a year or more in advance.

If you don’t have a firm wedding date or a venue locked in yet you want to allocate your time to the anchors of your wedding weekend budget.

Expos are designed to take the guess work out of planning by letting you interview multiple pros face-to-face in minutes. Go in with a plan, stay focused, and conquer the room!

Drop a 💍 below if you’re hitting our show this August show!
#greensborowedding #winstonsalemwedding #ncweddings

📩 Let’s talk about the long game.

Expect to see vendors reaching out to your shared wedding inbox over the next few weeks. Top-tier professionals know it may take some time to map out a budget. Take your time, browse their detail, galleries, and reply only when you’re ready to start building your dream team. If you’ve already select a vendor, it is OK to reply “no thank you” that will allow them to remove you from their list so that you do not continuously receive emails.

We are building the Carolina Wedding Show to be a supportive, exciting environment for our couples.

Grab your squad, bring your checklist, and get ready to meet your match!

🥭 tis the season
Keri nu Shaak (Indian Mango Curry)

A Saathee Magazine Original Recipe

☕️ Gujarati shaak is basically an Indian-spiced stir-fry. This time around instead of veggies we used mango and fair warning it’s extremely addicting.

Fun fact: because of the use of jaggery in the recipe it will last several days in the refrigerator.

📝 {d E a t s} Serves 3-4
1 large mango (not ripe, shouldn’t be soft) (cut into 1 inch cubes)
1 tbsp ghee or oil
½ tsp methi (fenugreek seeds)
1 tsp hing (asafetida)
1 tsp achar masala (you can find this at an Indian grocery store)
1 tbsp gor (jaggery)
½ inch cinnamon stick
1 clove
Salt to taste

In a pan on medium heat, make the vhagar with oil/ ghee, the cinnamon stick, clove, jeera & rai. Temper for about 30 seconds or until the seeds begin to pop. Stir in the hing.
Add in pre-chopped mango (yes it’s okay to leave the skin on) and a small pinch of salt.
Sauté until ingredients are combined, then add in jaggery. Stir until the jaggery begins to melt, mix in the achar masala, then cover the pan.
Reduce to medium-low heat and Let cook for about 5 mins or until the mangos can be easily pierced with a fork.
Optional: using a shredder scrape the seed of the mango to get as much excess pulp and juice as possible; add to the shaak.
Once ready, you should be left with mango in a fine gravy (almost looks like oil). If needed, adjust the salt and spices to taste.

For a traditional Gujarati meal serve with more sabzis or Shaaks, rice, and/ or roti.

🤌🏽 and that’s the chai.
