Timing was everything on this, and they fell l in love with it their new home immediately. The buyers of their home got closed in 26 days, so both transactions moved quickly right after! I’m super happy for them and their sale and purchase, and I appreciate them trusting me through this process. Can’t wait for the backyard BBQ 🙌🏾🤣

Just because you don’t have a written lease with your tenant, doesn’t mean that you don’t have any lease.

In Illinois, the absence of a written lease just means that you’re on a month-to-month lease. #

Story time!!

Many years ago (not too many 😆), Katrice was a new student in our school district, and she decided to run for class president. Her mom didn’t think it was a good idea at the time because Katrice was new and hadn’t yet established relationships with the other students. However, I believed she should go for it anyway. So much so that I said, “I’ll bake cookies and put notes inside that say, ‘VOTE FOR KATRICE!!’” (I definitely saw this on TV somewhere 🤷🏽‍♀️) lol.

Katrice was very concerned that people might choke on the pieces of paper, while I was more focused on finding the perfect ingredients to bake the perfect cookie to win the respect of what would soon become her student body.

Fast-forward to 20+ years later, and Katrice is now a practicing attorney who owns her own law firm, @sablelawgroup , meanwhile I followed a path in cooking and hospitality. That journey has led me to owning my own catering business and teaching culinary arts to high school students.

I don’t think either of us knew at that time where our paths would truly lead. If I remember correctly, I had ambitions of becoming a big-time ad executive, while Katrice was pursuing a career as a singer/performer.

MOP: When God has called you to something, it doesn’t matter what road you take to get there. Just know His purpose will be fulfilled, and He’ll use everything in between to get the glory. And trust me, none of it is ever wasted🙏🏽

Another referral client received her keys 🔑

After working with my clients niece for the sell of her home in Illinois and the purchase of her new home in Indiana she felt confident referring me to her aunt who wanted to relocate to Illinois from Georgia.

Thank goodness for technology and my expertise because she relied on it and Zoom to choose her forever home .

I would love to tell you that everything went completely smooth but we experienced some little hiccups trying to navigate this transaction with a lender that wasn’t familiar with the Illinois process. As a relocation tip, trust your team to refer you to a service parter that is a trusted professional with where you are moving to, not from .

However, it was nothing Katrice Matthews @dva4eva of Sable Law Group @sablelawgroup and I couldn’t handle .

If you’re looking to buy, sell, invest or just know someone who is , we are here to assist you and your referrals !
