I’m so honored to have spoken at @voguebusiness Small Talks -Big Conversations during @cphfw earlier this week hosted at @verpancom.

The talk explored a topic close to my heart: ”Craft is Key: Can traditions of the past solve obstacles of the future?” thoughtfully moderated by @chan_ely @britishvogue and featuring great insights from my fellow speakers @indrerock @the.circularity.project, Oriole Cullen @vamuseum and Tina Lemke @oncemore_from_sodra

We explored whether looking back can be the key to moving forward in finding sustainable solutions for the industry’s most pressing challenges.

To me craft is all about meaningful connection, with materials, with the process and with my Malian heritage. After years in fast fashion I felt disconnected from how things are made and the value of them. Embracing traditional, natural dye techniques and upcycling secondhand garments and textiles allows me to honor slow practice, imperfection and sustainability.

Craft challenges overconsumption, instead focusing on quality, durability, mindful design and the real value of slowing down✨

Modetips för den som befinner sig i Göteborg - Nana Sacko är en Göteborgsbaserad modedesigner och grundare av märket SACKO med inriktning på växtfärg. Genom att utvinna färg från blommor, växtextrakt och matavfall skapar Nana unika mönster på second hand plagg, egendesignade kollektioner och textil. I sin praktik utforskar Nana cirkulära designprocesser och småskalig design.
