We came to @mwanzi.market for breakfast… and ended up eating our way through Kenya, Greece & America in one day 🤭🤌🏻

I don’t disappear to be rude.

Sometimes I disappear to reset. To breathe. To have a little time alone with my thoughts.

Time alone makes me better company later.

It isn’t selfish. Sometimes, it’s necessary.

For the longest time, I’ve been trying to convince my better half, my mum and dad to let me do something that has been sitting in my head for a while.

The Himalayas.

It wasn’t an easy conversation.

There’s family, business, finances, growth, expansion, responsibilities and a hundred other things that life puts in front of you. And somewhere in between all of that, you start asking yourself whether you should really go after the things you dream about.

But after a lot of thinking, planning, arguing with myself, and probably a little too much convincing of everyone else… I’ve decided to start.

Not with a grand plan.

Not knowing exactly how it will all work.

Just with the first step.

Kenya has given me some incredible mountains to learn from. Batian has taught me that sometimes you reach the mountain, sometimes you turn around, and sometimes life simply decides that today isn’t the day.

That’s okay.

The mountains will still be there.

The plan now is to train, learn, build the experience and slowly work my way towards the bigger peaks of the Himalayas.

I have absolutely no idea where this journey will take me.

But I guess that’s the point.

We’ll figure it out along the way.

MY KILLSHOT STORY

Heights have always scared me.

But somewhere along the way, I decided I was done letting fear decide where I could go.

Kenya gave me the opportunity to climb higher — literally and otherwise. Rock faces, long days, exposed routes, moments where you look down and wonder what the hell you’re doing there.

And somewhere in all of that, I learned something simple:

If you’re scared, climb higher.

Life is unpredictable. We spend so much time worrying about what comes next that sometimes we forget to actually live the moment we’re in.

That’s what Killshot has come to mean to me.

It’s become my everyday coffee. Bold, naturally sweet, a little floral, but deeply chocolatey — almost like baker’s chocolate. I pull 20g in and 45g out on my La Marzocco, chasing that syrupy, creamy texture that makes the first cup of the day worth stopping for.

Coffee has always been part of my life.

But this one feels a little different.

Maybe because Killshot was born in Kenya.
Maybe because Kenya is where I learned to stop negotiating with fear.

Or maybe because some things in life are meant to be experienced while you’re right there in the moment.

This is my Killshot story.
