"I found myself thinking about emergence itself—not as a dramatic arrival, but as a gradual unfolding, the way ecosystems, relationships, and identities are continually becoming."

— "Emergence" by Erin Eberle is an experiment with creative constraint. Find this acrylic, gouache, and oil stick on canvas—and its earlier drafts—in Issue Two at the link in our bio/below.

Erin Eberle is a multi-disciplinary artist exploring memory, place, and perception as sites of inquiry and devotion. In painting, she approaches the canvas as a meditative field. Pieces from her ongoing body of work, Glimpse of Boundlessness, draw on abstraction, gesture, and layered color to dissolve fixed forms and invite viewers into states of not-knowing, where sensation precedes narrative and meaning emerges through feeling. She works across raw canvas, heavy paper, watercolor, acrylic, and gouache, applying pigment with brushes, sticks, and hands. This tactile range is integral to her inquiry: how different materials carry different kinds of intelligence, and how uncertainty itself can become a generative force. Erin Eberle lives and works in the United States. Her work has been exhibited in intimate gallery settings and lives in private collections. It continues to evolve as a dialogue between perception, presence, and place. Find her work at www.erineberle.com and on Instagram at @saddha1.

Erin Eberle, EMERGENCE, 2026.

Multi-disciplinary artist @saddha1 collaborated with Astera to create a series of paintings representing the farmed and foraged of our region, each painting a season. All four large canvases will be displayed during the corresponding season.

For Spring, she presented us with this striking work, Emergence. It was really inspiring to be witness to her creative process and see the canvas delivered right before opening day of the new dining room.

Thank you Erin for capturing this beautiful time of year with form and color.
