Happy 20 Year anniversary to Safe Hands Rescue. Glad we all were able to celebrate this milestone today.

If it wasn't for you.....there would be no Karen.

What a horrible world that would be.

🐾 $1,440 for Safe Hands Rescue! 💛

We’re so excited to share the final tally from our Minnesota State Fair fundraiser. This year, we pledged that 100% of the proceeds from our Dolly Parton print would go to Safe Hands Rescue, and thanks to everyone who purchased one, we raised $1,440! 🎉

@safehandsrescue does such important work helping animals who need a second chance. From providing care and a safe place to land, to finding loving forever homes, they work every day to give rescued dogs and cats the opportunity to start a new chapter.

And we have a pretty personal connection to that work. ❤️ These two handsome guys, Luca & Rocco, are both Safe Hands alumni, and they’re living proof of what a second chance can look like. 🐶🐶

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, bought a Dolly print, shared the fundraiser, or helped spread the word. We’re incredibly grateful that something we love doing can also help support an organization doing such meaningful work for animals.

$1,440 for Safe Hands, two very good dogs, and a whole lot of Minnesota kindness. ❤️

Thank You!

What’s one more? 🐾

Here’s the update: I am now fostering Odin!

This wasn’t exactly the plan, but long story short, Odin’s foster mom had been fostering him and his sister together. His sister got adopted and went home with her forever family today (!!), and his foster mom prefers to foster in pairs so everyone has a buddy.

At the same time, these two puppies were stuck in Kentucky and couldn’t make their way here unless someone could commit to fostering them. Since I still have Lilo, I couldn’t take on both puppies.

So, with a little foster-home reshuffling, Odin came to stay with me until he finds his forever home, and his former foster mom was able to take the two Kentucky puppies.

A tiny game of rescue Tetris, and somehow everyone ended up exactly where they needed to be. 🤍 #rescuedog #fosterdog #adoptdontshop #minneapolisdogs

My dogs first tarot readings🪄

Cooper: Temperance
He's navigated so much in the past year. Moving. Fostering dogs. And he's been so patient and loving to everyone in the process. He's helping these foster dogs beyond words. Everyone's life is better if you know Cooper.

Lilo: Page of Cups

Lilo hit the ground running here. Not only in the playful puppy way, but just ready to start her new life. She is curious. She is inspiring. I love her so much and she has brought me more joy than I thought possible!

Odin: King of Wands

He's reserved. He's thoughtful. My brother calls him "wise". I'm still getting to know him, but when I took over as his foster mom, I was told he's timid, and I have not found that to be the case. He's smart, determined to figure things out. Coming into a home with a couple of other dogs seems to be exactly what he needed. He's becoming himself with a little support with those around him.

Odin went home today, I am so happy and so sad.

This is my first adoption with @safehandsrescue and the process is not for the faint of heart. He was found in Kentucky in such an unfortunate situation, kept in a crate so small he couldn't stand up. I handed him off as a well adjusted, silly puppy who can't wait for his new life.

He found his dream parents, who are retired and can't wait to bring him with on all their adventures.

Odin, you've made my life so fun. Lucky to know you, big boi.
