Weekend-Tips by our lovely yogis and us 💛

1. Make the start of the day special: wake up the body by jumping in cold water, enjoy slow mornings with a book and a cup of coffee - Currently reading My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russel for our Book Club on Tuesday 📖
2. Move your body: Spend time in nature or visit one of our Yoga Classes 🍃
3. Rest: Relax in the sauna, just chill or take a nap or two, watch a movie - Did you already recognised our upcoming Movie Night? 😍
4. Spoil yourself: Bake some Buns, prepare a dinner full of love 🤤
5. Connect: with yourself and with loved ones 💛

Remember that every day of the week can be special. ✨ It doesn’t have to be a Saturday or Sunday. All these tips can be used for every day of the week.

Make some time for a little bit of daily magic. For example: I love to plan something extra nice, like going to my favourite Yoga class, for Mondays. How do you create daily magic?

Are you feeling the energy of the full moon? I do - it’s a strong one 🌕

What I like to do during the time of the full moon:

1. Charge: The light of the full moon is powerful! You can charge yourself & meaningful objects with it. ✨
2. Slow Down: Find balance with some Yin or Restorative Classes. Take time for yourself and clear your mind during a meditation. Online or at the studio - all links in our bio 💛
3. Release: Let go of things that doesn’t serve you. Write them down on a piece of paper and burn it. 🔥

What is your favorite thing to do to align with the moon? Do you even have a favorite class at our studio during this time? 😍

PS: This Full Moon is the Harvest Moon 🍂

Story of Sagayoga - Part Three ✨

Saga started the year 2018 with a new haircut. 💇🏼‍♀️

She also ended her unhappy relationship and was now full time working at Sagayoga. In February Julia joined Sagayoga as first other teacher in addition to Saga. 💛

Lauri and Saga first met during her Yoga Teacher Training in Summer 2017. But both were in a relationship back then. Now they met again and both were single 👀 They are still a couple today - I guess you can imagine what happened during the beginning of 2018 ✨❤️

The start of 2018 was a lovely one. Although not everything was easy in the beginning - some things were!

Paperwork, believe it or not that was one of the easy things. And Sagas Grandfather is an accountant, that was also really helpful! 💸

Saga also didn’t have a lot of contacts in the yoga world. And that was a blessing. Focusing on her dreams was so much easier since she didn’t compared herself or Sagayoga much to others. 👀 She didn’t even see Sagayoga as a “real” yoga studio during the first year. That took away a lot of pressure 💛

Sagayoga started as a small business and that meant less responsibilities for Saga in the beginning than she has today ✨

But one of the easiest and most important things was to share her passion with the best customers. Directly from the beginning we had a great community at Sagayoga - kiitos for being part of it 💛

How was your start of 2018, can you remember? 🕰👀

Story of Sagayoga - Part Two ✨

Why her own Studio? 🙆🏼‍♀️

Saga was in fear of more rejections. She also had a desire to create a place which feels like home and she finally wanted to take responsibility for her life. Therefore applying to an existing yoga studio was no possibility for her. Saga started with researching rents for possible places in Helsinki and found the place which should later become Studio Base in Töölö. 💛

The rent was low enough to take the risk - Saga just had some few bucks at the bank. 🤯💸

Without knowing anything about business administration, marketing or being an entrepreneur, she opened Sagayoga Base in Töölö in September 2017. ✨

In the beginning there wasn’t enough money to buy all the things needed for the studio. Saga brought curtains, pillows and even a vacuum cleaner from her own home. 🤦🏼‍♀️

During the first two weeks she offered the classes for free to get customers. Therefore, she kept her Job at the furniture shop. The first months were hard! She worked a lot and also lost a lot of weight, but she found her passion and that kept her working. 💪🏼

The year 2017 ended with a new Yoga Studio in Helsinki and one self-transformed life which does and will influence many other lives. 💛✨

Are you afraid of starting something new? We believe in you ☀️

Story of Sagayoga - Part One ✨

Let’s look back to 2017. ⏳

First things first: Saga had long hair! She was at the age of 24, part of an unhappy relationship and worked for a furniture shop in Helsinki. For the last five years she've tried each spring to get a place at Helsinki University to study psychology. Depressive! 😔

In 2017 she decided that she needs a plan B! Saga always thought about opening a furniture shop herself. She loves creating lovely spaces - but does the world really needs more stuff? Maybe better go abroad? No option - her grandmother (who was also called Saga) was ill & she wanted to spend time with her.

But what else was part of her life? Yoga! 😍✨

She did it for quite a while and her teacher Hanna offered, together with her partner Happy Jack, a Yoga Teacher Training during the summer. ☀️ Saga’s Dad lent her the money for the training. 💸

The 10 remaining weeks before the training she kicked her own ass. Back then she still thought that your physical body decides how good you are as a yoga teacher - Saga was about to learn a lot during the summer of 2017! 💛

After the training and a holiday, she returned to her job at the furniture shop. But she soon realized that her life has to change! Although she told herself at the Yoga Teacher Training that she will never be able to step in front of a group of Yogis to teach them she started to think about opening her own Yoga Studio. 🧐

Did you know about this beginning of Sagayoga already? 😍
