Please join us on Sunday 11/1 as we host acclaimed artist Hasani Sahlehe for an afternoon celebrating his debut book “Songs We Sing” (CANADA, 2026).

Hasani Sahlehe (born 1991, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) is an Atlanta-based abstract painter, known for his tactile, immersive, and brightly colored paintings. Through process, color, and form, Sahlehe’s work explores perception and memory with a deep connection to the emotive quality of music. Specifically focusing on his relationship to music, “Songs We Sing” presents images of Sahlehe’s visual art alongside dialogues between Sahlehe and various musicians and music producers.

During our afternoon reception, Sahlehe will be at Sargent signing books and engaging in conversation about this personal and energetic body of work.

Sunday, 11/1, 3:00- 5:00PM

Frieze London opens today! Find us in Booth C21 through Sunday October 18th 🌟

Across distinct approaches to art making, the works on view converge around light, repetition, memory, and transformation. Building blocks from the natural world; oil, stone, flame and flower are rendered soft and polished, embracing the bliss of simple pleasures.

Night Gallery is thrilled to announce our upcoming presentation at Frieze London, which will feature new paintings by Atlanta-based artist Hasani Sahlehe. This follows his 2025 solo debut with the gallery, “Color Test.”

Sahlehe’s practice draws on a syncretic range of references including music, language, the phenomenon of abstraction, the mystery of painting, ancient architecture, cultural syncretism, and spiritual aesthetics. His work invites viewers to consider abstraction not merely as a style, but as a fundamental mode of human understanding: the same capacity for abstract thought that allows us to conceive of something as vast as “the world” is what allows a few blocks of color to carry genuine emotional and philosophical resonance.

It’s been a few months since the closing of TEMPORARY MONUMENT: ATL/LEX - a pop-up art show @325westmain which brought together artists from Atlanta and Lexington. Held over four weekends in April and May of 2026, the final day of the show featured an incredibly moving performance by Lexington’s own @mwebb3ncov This lovely video was filmed and edited by @_pkwesley_ with additional camera by @incahootsky .The show was organized by @temporaryartcenter in collaboration with @2ndstory.art and @ukartmuseum , along with @katherinestpaul and @ddmmfreed, featured at the beautiful space @325westmain, and strongly supported by the wonderful @visitlex . Big up to everyone who came out to support this project and to the wonderfully kind artists who truly made it happen:
