“Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

After Paul breaks down the basic tenant of salvation being not of works but through faith,

He doubles back to insert the necessity of works and why we do work.

We work because we are saved not to be saved.

He also states that our works are not a gift , meaning our works are something God is impressed with.

It is not as if God “needs” our works and that we “bless” him, although he is pleased and overjoyed by them. God is not lacking, so our works are not a “reward” to God.

Rather, Christ desires for us to follow him sheerly out of love.

“For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.”

“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Gods plan of salvation was revealed in the beginning all the way back in Genesis. God always had prepared for us good works because it was his plan from the beginning to reconcile us back to himself after the fall.

“And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Develop a ROOT system .

“As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Extremely encouraging encounter .

Was getting followed by a heckler while evangelizing today, and met this guy right after.

He immediately encouraged me, and we had a great convo about some end times stuff and staying connected to Christ. Will post more clips in future posts. Excuse the camera quality.

God will strengthen the believer to do his will in your life. “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling” means to have humility and awareness in the process of renewal, but take comfort that it is GOD who strengthens you to do the work.

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Don’t trust everyone’s confession of faith.

Examine the fruit and test the spirit.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭26‬ ‭ESV‬‬
