This year as Salford marks 100 years of city status, hundreds of people have signed our Centenary Book, inviting Salfordians to reflect on what the city means to them.

We wanted to share some of the responses we had…

Want to sign the book yourself? The Centenary Book will be joining our Salford Voices banner tour this Autumn 👀 Dates on our website with more to be announced!

SALFORD CREATIVES: An online hub built to support, celebrate and connect Salford’s thriving cultural sector is set to launch this October.

‘Salford creatives’ will make it easier for creative communities to discover opportunities, build networks and showcase local talent. The first-of-its-kind resource is set to launch on Thu 1 Oct.

Developed by the Salford Culture and Place Partnership (SCPP), supported using public funding by the National Lottery through @acegrams, the platform will provide practical tools and opportunities to help artists, freelancers, makers, organisations and cultural leaders develop their work, reach new audiences and support long-term growth across the sector.

Helpful features will include a creative directory, opportunities board, resources hub and sector news, all housed in one accessible space. The platform itself has been developed directly in collaboration with Salford’s creative community through interviews, workshops, surveys and creative activities.

Throwback to me having the absolute time of my life, cheering on and supporting our INCREDIBLE @uos_artsmedia students at the Create Student Awards 2026! 👏👏👏

These students showcased the absolute BEST of us, with awards focussed on socially engaged practices, engagement with the sector, resilience, leadership, and all sorts of exceptional activities over and above their work on the BA and MA programmes themselves. I was in AWE. 🤩🤩🤩

Such an honour to witness. Especially as Alumni of the very same school - they put me and my student days to shame! 🙈💚🙌
