Every once in a while my thoughts turn to this one... our musical version of Timothy Findley's NOT WANTED ON THE VOYAGE (think about that for a moment, if you know the source material) a shockingly prescient story "about the first time the world ended." Tiff, as friends called him, loved the adaptation. These images are from the production @northwestern.theatre directed by the brilliant Amanda Dehnert. @stratfest also held a star-studded workshop. @goodspeedmusicals @canadianstage & @confedcentre generously supported readings. This one should be seen again... in my extremely biased opinion. Who's up for it?

Summer film accidentally double exposed itself. How? I don’t know. Sometimes simple things are hard. The real ones will call it new art (💅) because IYKYK. And honestly…can you even believe it? For the rest: I think it’s nice when worlds collide and viewpoints blur — we have to look a little closer, and I like that.

The Wanting LP came out one year ago, yesterday. Thanks to everyone who’s listened and shared, who’s told me the songs mean something to them. I’m continually surprised by how and where the music finds people. Just this week, someone in Munich Shazam’d “Into The Wave.” How beautiful and magical! Making this album was one of the greatest joys and most necessary expressions of my lifetime and I still love all the songs, madly deeply, as much as I did one year ago. There are always lots of practical reasons not to make a thing, so I just wanna say to anyone reading this: make the thing you want to make. You won’t be sorry. 🧡
