Iā€™ve got quite a few poems tucked up my sleeves but am very shy about sharing them šŸ™ˆ Itā€™s World Poetry Day though so what better time to read a poem to you? Wrote this a while ago but it hasnā€™t got a title yet and it needs a good edit but I thought Iā€™d post it anyway, perfectionism be damned! Have you got any hidden gems or favourite poems? Title tbcā€¦ Standing in the darkened garden Avoiding crocodile-puppy jaws And waiting for wee Ours is the only light on I think of all my neighbours sleeping Of all their dreams and pains and joy Who is lying awake in the dark Lamenting missed chances Texting secret loves Who is aching for morning To end their sleepless night? Who rolls towards their lover Caresses them and sighs in sleep Who is dreaming of their mother And how she slipped away Who is blissful and untroubled And all the children sleeping Their resting faces divine Who nuzzles their new baby And dreams of different times The hugger mugger buildings extend Round our small patch of London land All the many people Living all their many lives All the troubles of the world on hold In the depth and dark of night. @sallyvanderpump Did it, @iamkerrylyons šŸ˜‰šŸ˜† #worldpoetryday #poetry #poet #secretpoetrystash #poetrylovers #mindfulpoetry

How are you doing? Bit of a rainy day in London - Iā€™d quite like to stay in pyjamas and drink tea all day. How about you? Instead Iā€™m doing a little tweakery of my website - with added šŸ«–. I donā€™t think I mentioned that Iā€™ve redesigned it and am putting up some shots like this one from She Came to Stay. Iā€™ve radically simplified my site - itā€™s now just one page with details of acting, voiceover and mindfulness all in one place. Would love to know what you think if you have a mo to check it out, maybe with a cuppa in handā€¦šŸ™šŸ¼ www.sallyvanderpump.com šŸ“·šŸŽ„ @shirley.snow @lewishraeburn #actor #actress #voiceactor #voiceover #mindfulacting #casting #film #television #theatre

Iā€™ve got one pic left in the new headshot locker so I thought Iā€™d use it to say hello. So, hi! Iā€™m Sally. I live in London with my husband and our two teenagers. šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļøOne of my earliest memories is of a play that went wrong. I had it all planned out. In my head. It featured pirates and Olive Oyl from Popeye, and it was an exciting adventure. I had a cast and had even sourced real-life treasure. When it came to show time however, my fellow actors ran amok. Five-year-olds are amazing at improvisation but the teacher was not impressed and the show was quickly canned. Peace on the story-time carpet reigned once more. My actor-writer-director career crushed before it had begun. šŸŽšŸŽØI still loved acting though and spent most of my free time at drama or art clubs. šŸ“°I went to university and then worked as a subeditor but when I found myself writing financial news for a bank in Sweden I decided Iā€™d gone a bit too far from my passions and auditioned for the post-grad acting course at ArtsEd. Five years of acting in theatre and films followed, combined with subediting at The Sunday Times, where I met my husband. When we had our kids acting went out of the window again. šŸ’I got into jewellery making and ran my own jewellery business for a while but something wasnā€™t quite rightā€¦ I could not envisage myself doing it five years down the line. ā™„ļøI made a collection about Shakespeare and the language of the heart and boom. It was like my own heart had told me what to do. I auditioned for a one-woman show, The Cloak of Visibility, by @louisebr33 and got the part. Back to acting after 14 years. šŸŽ¤I work mostly from my home studio as a voiceover artist and audition for as much as my wonderful agent @1artistsagency can throw at me. šŸŖ·I recently qualified as a mindfulness teacher and have meditations up on @insighttimer I need mindfulness in my own life because Iā€™m always cooking up new ideas and it helps me to focus. šŸ’ŽMaybe the little kid whose imagination was chock-full of treasure has never grown up. Perhaps itā€™s time to let it run amok again. How about you? What did little you love to do? šŸ¤— This post was inspired by the awesome @iamkerrylyons šŸ˜˜

Happy New Year, everyone! How are you doing? Hope you had a good one and are looking forward to 2023. My house is still in a bit of post-Christmas chaos and the teens are still in bed but Iā€™m back at my desk today with my new vision board for the year on the wall next to me to spur me on. If youā€™d like help to create one too Iā€™m just editing the voiceover for my mini vision board workshop and planning to get it done by the end of the week so keep your eyes peeled or DM me and I can send you a link when itā€™s ready. Iā€™ve never created a course before so itā€™s a fun experiment to start the year and I canā€™t wait to hear what you think! What are your plans for this week? #happynewyear #goals #plans #dreams #visionboard #experiment #fun #play #meditation #creativity #creativetwistpodcast
