The pinnacle of big games sport fishing on top water. What we would consider the Mount Everest of sport fishing . Couldn’t have asked for a better team couldn’t have asked for a better boat couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was all like it was ment to be. Thank you god for bringing it all together to this moment. For me personally it’s also on a new rod that I have designed and a braid that I have just started testing .. all ment and created to make moments like this happen not only for me but for people who are absolutely mental about this fishery. I hope that when these new rods come out and you get tight on your PB fish you will do it confidently, knowing you brought the best gear in the world to achieve the mission Silkocean FCMP PE 14 will be on your reel and redemption rod in your hand, giving you the confidence to land a dream.

I haven’t posted about this experience yet. I’ve been taking some time to reflect on what fishing the @white_marlin_open meant to me.

When I was a kid, we went to my grandparents’ every weekend. From the moment I woke up until the moment I went to sleep, I was on that dock fishing for white perch. My mom would have to peel me off of it just to remind me to eat.

I’m a Marylander, born and raised, and fishing has been my passion for as far back as I have memories. Growing up here, the White Marlin Open, the premier fishing tournament in the world, was something I tuned into every year. I watched in awe as people lived what seemed like my dream - watching them stand on stage with their catch after their day offshore in the blue water.

And every year, I dreamed that maybe one day I’d be standing on that stage.

Maybe one day my name would be on that sign.

Last week, I was blessed enough to watch my name being written on it.

Yes, everyone fishing that tournament knows about the millions of dollars at stake. And yes, I’m ecstatic that I caught a fish that allowed a giant check made out to the one and only Halo Rick 2. And yes, that fish won a bit of money.

But for me?

My name was on that sign.

I would like to send out a few thank yous:
To everyone that messaged us during the tournament and cheered us on. It genuinely gave us more drive, especially promoting the light tackle community and the way we like to fish - on the biggest stage.
To the @white_marlin_open , for putting on an absolutely unbelievable event year after year. And for making the dreams of many others like me come true.
To the captain @salt_silverbak and crew @spath_man @j_willfishin @stevetubman - I couldn’t have asked for a better team to share this experience with
To @saltmafiaofficial for providing us with gear that kept our equipment dry in the rough weather and my bald head from burning in the sun 😂
To @e_fish_entcustomrods for making a product that I have no hesitation in reaching for when quite literally millions may be on the line.
To @yamai_suteki_global for making the highest quality hooks in the world. In these situations an angler needs to trust his gear, and there’s none better.

Biblical to see these fish shoot up from 200 feet down when @salt_silverbak pulled the throttle back in 4000 feet of water. We start marking a huge pack 200-250 feet down. All solid 95-100 inch +++. He said “We just ran them over - cast! They are deep but coming up fast…200…150…100 and my 240 Bazoo @cbone_global gets destroyed but never comes tight and then @rosettostone’s Arise 150g @black_ledge_lures gets tossed 10 feet in the air. These fish push so much water when they hit, it’s incredible. I pulled hooks left and right and we had some technical difficulties between @sally_trees and @rosettostone 😂. But we managed to land 7 Giants out of the 15 that we came tight on!

This day will be remembered!! The most Epic aggressive strikes that I have Ever witnessed and experienced in my short Giant bluefin career!
