☕ Presenting Experience Chinatown 2026 mural: “Coffee Plant: Our Past, Present, and Future” by Tate Won Chen @salty_scrawl located at APM Coffee @apmcoffee at 99 Kneeland St, Boston. This year, the muralists responded to the prompt, “What makes Chinatown abundant?” ☕

Tate shares, “Look closely at a coffee plant and you’ll see something unlike most plants. Fresh buds, full blooming flowers, ripe fruits, and new growth- all on the same branch, all at the same time. Abundance can be one big thing. It can also be individual qualities coming together all at once. This is also how community takes shape, and why our Chinatown is like this coffee plant branch.”

Experience Chinatown is where you can discover a new take on Asian American Cultures. See, hear, create, and connect. Together, celebrate the rich cultural fabric of Boston Chinatown through free creative activities for all. #ExperienceChinatown

Live performances and activities: Saturday, September 26 from 11-3 PM (Rain date Sunday, 9/27). Murals on view now through October 18!

anne holland loves flowers, so she founded @bloom_rhode_island • she loves to encourage writers, so she founded what is now @litartsri • she wants to amplify women’s voices, so for many years she worked tirelessly with other women to raise funds to transform a non-descript single-story commercial building into @thealcoveri – a feminist cultural center that now boasts the world’s only permanent gallery dedicated entirely to portraiture of women and gender-expansive people, and a library of books by and about women categorized by occupation to inspire. anne loves beautiful spaces so she enlisted @pernillainteriors – known for her jaunty mix of color + pattern – to decorate. spaces throughout are outfitted with so much thought, from the scale of furniture, to a soothing palette, to pops of whimsy. over cookies, i listened to tales of sourcing goods, tariff-propelled pivots, art commissions, and how the nimble @salty_scrawl painted a mural along a stairwell. ri is lucky to have this quiet visionary working hard to make things beautiful + good #rightherewherewelive ⚓️💛📔🌼

Last chance to view the “Year of the Horse Exhibit” which celebrates cross-cultural Lunar New Year traditions, customs, and stories, all while elevating the work of local artists.

We had the pleasure of welcoming many of the exhibiting artists to our Year of the Snake Party earlier this month. Thank you all for sharing your wonderful work!

Giddy to share- 2 of my collages are currently on exhibit in the Year of the Horse show @paoartscenter in Boston Chinatown- now through March 28! 🥟💃🧧🐴Come check it out the collection is stunning- I’m so jazzed to be in the same show as these amazing local artists, many of whom I got to meet at Pao’s Lunar New Year Party Tuesday. So inspired and filled with joy! As always so grateful and impressed with Pao and the community they build!
