Screening 29 September at our Short Film Open Screen: IF YOU’RE LOST I’LL COME FIND YOU

A search for a lost budgie spirals into a chaotic night across Manchester.

About the event:
All films are selected on a first-come/first-screened basis. Our Short Film Open Screen is a great place to showcase your work non-competitively for free in front of an audience of fellow indie filmmakers!

Filming a true one shot short film meant that we were at the mercy of the weather for The Robinson’s Family BBQ. Saturday was too sunny, shadows were causing a nightmare, Sunday had spells of heavy rain.

This was a hard job as a producer, knowing the right time to start a take and making sure people were happy to stand down when the time called for it.

A really good learning experience.
We managed to do 9 takes over 2 days and on the 9th take we got it.
Would I have loved a 10th go at it? Of course I would, but you’re always going to find imperfections in your work. It’s about learning from that and taking it forward to the next job

Look at young Reece laying into that Jukebox like it owes him 20 quid. We all had so much fun making this video and was a bit of a full circle moment.

We first met @sam___bond in the smoking area at The Castle in Manchester late one night trading daft stories when he mentioned that he’s a filmmaker, we traded socials and a few months later when we was in need of someone to film a video he piped up - leading to him and his team doing the one for L.A. - Fast forward about 2 years later and scouting out a simple location we realised the upstairs of the castle with its belting wallpaper was the perfect spot. Of the thousands of gigs they’ve had there we must surely be the first to do it upstairs. Funny how life comes round like that init?

Sam’s just moved down to London for a new chapter in his career, we wish him all the best

Been very lucky to find people like this on our journey. A huge part of our band has always been about connecting to other underground and aspiring artists. We love this shiiiittt

Go check out the full video if you’ve not already x

Police chase heats up as the perp pulls off the most unexpected maneuver to get away...

Sam saw the right angle and knew exactly what to do. An actor improvising in character can create the funniest moments!

For more left turns into madness, check out Male Cops our comedy short film. Made by uk filmmakers in the north, creating indie films in Manchester.

Even foolishness must be organised by someone, here’s the seven handsome fellas making it happen... you better hope they don’t go into organised crime someday

You’re probably a robot if you’re reading this bit, wanting to hear words like uk filmmaker and short films - we don’t want to bend to our robot overlords, but for the sake of comedy film and indie cinema, we’ll do it

When your mate who doesn't even act gives the performance of a lifetime and kills the director...

We'll be sharing some BTS from our cops first outing while we waiting for Male Cops 2

If your eyes are still watching down here, you're after short films by uk filmmakers making comedy films in the north of England.
