Proud of what we’ve achieved in 2026, but even prouder of the people behind it.

Across our 9 Pathways Teams, we made 3 Grand Finals, 5 Preliminary Finals and won a Harold Matthews Premiership, while our NRL Team reached its first Grand Final in 25 years.

Proud of our players, our people, our club and the communities we represent.

This is just the beginning! ❤️💙

The importance of rate of force development in contact based team sports.

The ability to exert large quantities of force in a very limited time period is a critical skill of elite level performers in contact sports. Athletes are required to perform reform a number of key movement patterns such as accelerate into contact, break tackles, rotate and throw opponents to the floor. All of these key movements are enhanced by an athletes ability to exert large amounts of force quickly.

The videos demonstrate a few upper and lower body power options which help develop an athletes rate of force development.

Video 1) Hang Power Clean
Video 2) Banded Broad Jump
Video 3) Trap Bar Jump
Video 4) Seated Rocker Jump
Video 5) Split Stance MB Rotational Slam
Video 6) MB Throw Supine

The Contrast Method For In Season Strength And Power Development.

The contrast method pairs a strength exercise with a subsequent plyometric exercise utilising similar movement patterns. The method takes advantage of the Post Activation Potentiation (PAP) effect where the athlete experiences a brief increase in neural drive and motor unit recruitment enabling greater output during the plyometric exercise.

Here is a few examples from our current World Cup Strength Program where we utilise the contrast method in our final session of the week.

BB Back Squat + Rocker NCMJ
BB Hang Clean + Banded Broad Jump
BB Bench Press + Supine MB Throw

How and When to Expose Team Sport Athletes to Varying Posterior Chain Exercises In Season.

When programming a concurrent training model that incorporates high speed running, large running volumes and strength training, understanding how and when to integrate posterior chain development is extremely important. During the training week I like to include a proximal or hip dominant exercise, knee dominant or distal exercise along with an isometric exercise. Exercises that have large eccentric contractions should be performed at least 36 hours before high speed running exposures.

Here are a few key posterior chain exercises we have used throughout our World Cup campaign thus far.

1. DL Sliders
2. SL RDL
3. Bosch Hold 1 Leg Supine
4. Nordic Curl ( not shown)
