21st October - Milan 🇮🇹

Very excited to announce ‘The fragment and the infinite’, an exhibition of work by Sam Lock in Milan. Curated by Maria Abramenko and myself, opening on the 21st of October.

Initially drawn and painted on a fifty-metre roll of raw canvas in one session. Lock then cut this painting into two metre sections, not knowing what the end result would be. These large paintings will be displayed on the concrete walls of Scalo Lambrate, a renovated disused railway station, flooded with natural light.

‘There are so many different forms this piece of work could have become, endless other destinations or endings. The marks we make are only part of the story, the unmade marks and all the other potential marks that could have been made are present in their absence’- Lock
