Today, we’ve got a special guest who represents what it means to be a young athlete with talent, versatility, and something to prove.

I’m excited to sit down with Ariah Butts, a 2025 All-State and All-Conference athlete from Kenwood High School, Class of 2027.

Ariah is a multi-position athlete who brings her game on both sides of the field as a running back, wide receiver, and defensive back. But this conversation is about more than the stats and the accolades.

We’re talking about the work behind the recognition, the sacrifices young athletes make, balancing school and sports, staying focused, and what it takes to continue chasing your goals.

🥲 Yall, last week, I had the honor of serving as the guest speaker for the “Rising in Power” series, hosted by the University of Texas’ Black Student Alliance and the UT Chapter of the National Black Law Students Association (BLSA). 🤘🏾

During my presentation, I shared insights on leadership, perseverance, and the importance of authenticity in the legal and professional journey. The students then put me in the hot seat for a “Five Questions” round — giving me the choice to answer or plead the Fifth! Needless to say, the conversation was lively, thoughtful, and full of laughter.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with such bright, purpose-driven future leaders and to strengthen the bridge between Saffold Law Group and the University community. Our firm is proud to continue this partnership through upcoming internship and mentorship opportunities for UT students interested in law, business, and social impact.

Moments like these remind me why I’m passionate about both the law and leadership, empowering the next generation to rise, lead, and create lasting change.
