This Week in Los Angeles

Analog Collaging Workshop - Friday, October 2, 12AM @stevesbackhouse. Backhouse teams up with Itsatrinketparty to mark the release of their new book with a hands-on analog collaging workshop. The session takes place inside the creative studio space known for its ceramics and art workshops.

The Brutalist Magazine Pre-Launch and Exhibition - Friday, October 2, 12PM @ladesignweekend. The Brutalist magazine’s first issue comes alive as an immersive space of objects, plants, concrete, food, and drink. BotanicalSound performs live bio-sonics with exotic plants by ADLR, Giulio Design Studio live-sculpts clay into brutalist forms up for bidding, and a special guest closes the night with a live vinyl set of dub and deep techno courtesy of Bizarro Sound. Chef Lionel Pigeard crafts a Brutalist menu alongside Brutalist cocktails made with NEFT Vodka, with magazine copies and featured objects available to purchase.

Gallery Show for LA Design Week - Friday, October 2, 5PM @verci.la. Confluence & Communion, curated by Ivan Ji in partnership with LA Design Week Fall 2026, brings together works drawn from diverse materials, hands, histories, and methods. Pieces sit in tension or interlock in harmony, inviting visitors to find reflections between organic and inorganic materials and between self and others.

Yard Sale with Same Studios - Saturday, October 3, 10AM @samestudios_. A group of vendors open up their closets for shopping at Same Studios, the Costa Mesa creative space founded by Kiana and Aisha for photo shoots, content creation, workshops, and small gatherings.

Montana Ave Art Walk - Saturday, October 3, 11AM @thevenicefest. Ten blocks of Montana Avenue between 7th and 17th Street turn into a walkable mix of local artists, live music, shopping, wellness, and community activities. This year’s edition also celebrates the 100th anniversary of Route 66.
