@bolinasmuseum exhibition and benefit auction opening today! with some great humans. Oct 4th - Oct 17th Fifth Gen_12, 2019 ceramic, 10” x 14” Fifth Gen, serves as a monument to the past, honoring the homes her father and ancestors built for their families. Rooted in ceramic, the series features floor plans of houses her father constructed, including the artist’s own childhood home, evoking a sense of romantic nostalgia for the innate human impulse to build shelter. By revisiting these structures, Nadeau draws on traditional craft while reflecting on how the act of building a family home has become a myth, an echo of a bygone era. She reimagines houses as sculptures, installations, and vessels rich with symbolism and poetics. Artful’s Registrar, Abi Herman (@abi_herman99), spent this past weekend at The Armory Show. Now in its 32nd edition, the fair filled the Javits Center with around 230 galleries from more than 30 countries. It has opened New York’s fall art season since 1994, though this year it shifted later in the month, which gave the whole week a different rhythm. Under director Kyla McMillan, the 2026 edition leaned into an international range. Focus, curated by María Elena Ortiz, traced histories of movement and exchange through the Caribbean. Presents, the section given over to younger galleries, expanded to roughly 55 participants.
