Dear EMTFXC,

It feels hard giving up something that has been a part of my life for almost 6 years. From waking up at 7 am for 8 am practices to competing at meets that lasted till midnight. This sport has made me into a better man and it has helped grow throughout the years. I want to give a big thank you to @eastmeadow_xctf and @thesprintstitute for never giving up on me. Always had faith in me when i didn’t, pushed me when i didn’t feel like being pushed, and putting me in a leadership role when i felt i wasn’t up for it. I soon realized that doing the things you’re not comfortable doing is when a person grows the most. I want to also thank the people i met through this sport. All of you had a huge impact on me while having an impact on others. You guys made doing the sport worthwhile and made me feel at home. Through all the laughs and motivation, I am glad to call most of you guys my close friends. I am left with a heavy heart. I am satisfied with the mark i left on this team. I know I gave it my all after every run, workout, and meet and because of that I am happy. To end this off, I will leave off with a quote. “Stay golden. Keep your standards above and beyond, your focus locked, and your heart set ablaze.”

A lot of people think that track is an individual sport.

We might race individually, we may win our individual events, but let me assure you, track is very much a team sport. All of my victories and all of my points would mean nothing without my teammates victories and points to add to them. I’m so beyond grateful for my teammates. Everything that I accomplished was with their help. Without them i never could’ve pushed as hard or gone as far. More than teammates, I made friends who I now share countless memories with. I’m so proud to have ran beside you all these past four years. I’ve met people who say their teammates wouldn’t be able to win meets without their points; I’d like to see them win a meet without their teammates points.

Thank you to @eastmeadow_xctf and @thesprintstitute for helping to provide and coach me through this wonderful experience.

A special thank you to @dannylindow_0825 for being the biggest inspiration to a generation of East Meadow distance runners.

Sophomore Year ✅ Junior Year 🔜

My sophomore year of XC/Track has built me not just athletically, but socially and emotionally. The things I was able to do this season would’ve blew my freshmen self away. From getting a couple of my first preformance medals, to big PR’s. I am truly grateful for the people that were there alongside with me to witness and support me along the way. The friendships I’ve made and further built upon this year during track are truly special to me. It hurts to know that some of the friends that have been there through fun and tough times will be leaving 💔. I only hope to carry on what they have left for us. I think this year was a great success when it comes to our performances m, and hopefully the same thing happens for the upcoming seasons.
