Sounds Like A Good Mixtape - Sam Judd [CLIPPMIX118]

UK-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Sam Judd’s recent release “Skyline” is a bendy trip over the twilight horizon on the wings of a concord made of marshmellows! Now take a peak through the window pane and enjoy the view with a boppy one-hour mixtape. Up is down is up is UP! If Sam was a cartographer, this mix would be a map only your feet can read. Drawn in dub, 2-step, big vocal moments and experimental detours, leading deep into a forest with no marked exit and several suspicious mushrooms. The compass is useless. At the halfway point, a frog in hi-vis insists this is the scenic route. Keep moving. Keep your eyes on the skyline beyond the trees. Your feet know exactly what they’re doing.

Sam Judd - Skyline [CLIPP263]

Sam Judd looked into the heavens and decided they could use another floor. Do you see what we did there? Luckily, Sam has previous experience with unconventional materials. The UK-based producer and multi-instrumentalist treats the planet like one enormous sample folder, folding recordings gathered on his travels into acceptable electronica for dance-floors, daydreams and the occasional spontaneous change in altitude.

Usually the building inspector would raise concerns: organic drums have been discovered moving through the foundations and heaving layers of sub bass line synthesis are wired directly into the lift shaft. The entire structure appears to be bordering on unstable levels of Euphoria. Gravity has now lodged a formal objection to the development, citing “unauthorised uplift and a repeated failure to remain at street level”. While we take urban planning extremely seriously, sometimes you gotta throw caution to the wind, ignore every warning, and approve “Skyline” for immediate distribution of vibe.

In Sam’s own words: “I’m inspired by how dance music can be this transformative experience. I usually put this track at the end of the set, when we’re all warmed up and having a lovely time. The long buildup is a second to realise where we are, and when it swings back in we get to celebrate that.” I guess the windows are smiling after all, and level 46 has legally declared itself a cloud.

Collage is basically a puzzle you didn’t ask for 🧩🤎

Look at Magazines pages. Cut. Move. Stare. Move again. Why doesn’t this fit. Oh wait -

Somewhere in there your brain just… exhales. Dopamine hits. Oxytocin doing its thing. You didn’t even notice you stopped overthinking ✨

But here’s the wild part.

The stuff you’ve been avoiding? Your shadow - all that weight you carry and never look at - it starts showing up in what you pick. What you tear. What your hands reach for without asking your brain first.

Art Collage doesn’t fix your shadow. It just stops you from running from it for a bit 🤎🌿

And somehow that’s enough.

This one? Still not glued. Not ready. Still talking to me ✨
No plan. Never was. No idea where it’s going. Just vibes, scissors, and something deeply mushroomy happening 🍄‍🟫

Very excited to announce the release of the latest track Shadows from the incredibly talented @samjudd_

This track feels both reflectively nostalgic and optimistic, Get your headphones on, close your eyes and feel transported away listening to the dreamy cords and snappy drums.

Out on all major streaming platforms now, as always thanks for the support, go give Sam and follow and save this track. Play it for your mates, play if for your family, share it with your neighbours.

One afternoon. Too many thoughts. Not enough space. 🎷

So I picked up the scissors & cutter instead.

No plan. Just piano keys, musicians, legends - and whatever needed to come out.

Miles Davis centre stage because when everything feels like noise - find the one note that cuts through.

This is shadowring. Taking what’s loud in your head and letting your hands sort it out. Letting the piece say what you can’t.

“Everything is energy.” 🎹✨
It says it right there on the canvas. The overthinking. The making. The music. The mess. All of it - energy finding its shape. 🤎

Which brings me to something we’ve been building quietly alongside Shadore Within. 🌿

Music moves people the same way art does. It finds the parts words can’t reach.✨

More on that very soon. 👀💚

What song would you listen to when you’re overthinking?

About time I posted some @feiggo clips. Me and @samjudd_ have been writing an album called Earthbound over the last year around the country in the studio van. We had a last jam in the garden today before I head back off to sea but we will definitely be making more music in the future and maybeee releasing Earthbound if I stop being so picky😂

Chaos has a shape. This is mine. 🤎

Black. Red. Neon. A child curled in the centre of it all.

Smoke. A butterfly. An eye that won’t stop watching. A city that keeps moving underneath everything.

I didn’t plan this piece. I just started - spray can, homemade neon, scissors, glue, emotions - and let whatever was inside find its way out.

That’s the thing about making. You think you’re creating art. Really you’re just finally being honest. 💚

What’s living inside you that hasn’t found its shape yet?

Come find out. 🌿

Shadore Within - The Reset. Bristol. Coming very soon. Tickets in bio. ✨
