Disney’s FROZEN opens September, 2027 @hktfi 🇫🇮

This movie melt hearts back in 2013, and the phenomenon that has followed has been unique and impressive on many levels. The Broadway musical was announced and I had to book tickets on the same day to witness the original cast in the original version. And almost 10 years later, I get an opportunity to direct this magical title on ine of the world’s largest stages ❄️💙

It is no secret Disney has a special place in my heart. I adore the world of imagination and wonder - anything is possible if you let it and set your mind and heart into it. FROZEN speaks volumes about allowing yourself to be who you truly are, and believing in the power of true love - whatever it might mean. These topics are valuable to many, and offer pathways forward in times of crisis and despair.

This story about two strong, and very different, sisters touches me deeply. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s THE SNOW QUEEN, I am happy to finally be able to combine my experiences of cultures of both Denmark and Finland into this production. Together with our fantastic creative team, we will deliver a spectacular experience that leaves everyone cold 🥶❄️☃️

This boy is so so so happy, and I do want to build a snowman!
Right now.

Celebrating in Oz @ttteatteri of the opening night of our ambitious production of WICKED together with my wonderful choreographer @jarisaarelainen 💚

Together we have been responsible for titles such as BILLY ELLIOT, MATILDA, SCHOOL OF ROCK and Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST + many more. Creative collaboration is demanding and requires a lot from everyone involved, but it should also be fun, inspiring, and rewarding. With Jari it most definitely is. A creative collaboration turned into a lifelong friendship. 🩷💚

Jari is also a wizard when it comes to gardening and decoration, and he is behind the very popular @kotiografi account. I suggest you give him a follow 🌷

Being a creative artist requires passion, imagination, and ability to remain imperfect.
Being a leader requires determination, vision, and patience.
Are these two far from one another?

In my everyday life, I aim to be both - a visionary creative artist & a passionate leader.

Leadership can be art, and one can be creative in leadership. Loving your work is a good start. Appreciating the craft of many within the live entertainment industry is the core element. And finally, having a vision for the goal is everything. It is not given to earn the appreciation of others, but one surely listens when these qualities are present.

LA TRAVIATA opens tonight at @vanemuine in Estonia 🇪🇪🍾🥂✨This marks a major celebration for me and @harjannecompany for this is indeed the very first replica production of an opera we have created. Our original production opened @tampereenooppera @tamperetalo in 2024, and today we get to celebrate the Estonian premiere of this same praised production!

When we first got the opportunity to create this opera, we were approached with a challenge to attract new audiences to opera performances. I wanted to create a production that I would enjoy watching and happily I can tell that so do others. When we were approached by Rahvusteater Vanemuine to bring our production to Estonia, we couldn’t have been happier. I have fallen in love with this art form, and hope for future productions to arose also from the world of opera.

I couldn’t have done any of this without the fantastic creative team around me: @peter__fransen @_tinja @johanssonjack @ristojoost and Toni Haaranen. Thank you for your creativity, hard work, and dedication to this project. Only this way one can break international boundaries and reach further beyond. And I am enormously thankful for @ebipet who has been my assistant and actually rehearsed and set this entire opera production with the Estonian cast & crew! I am so proud of you and so happy to have you by my side. You brought your expertise and passion on board, and made this production much richer. Thank you 🫶

Everyone on and off stage are shining like the stars they are ✨ Rehearsing multiple casts has its challenges, but it also enriches the production as well as the lives of the creatives. So many new colleagues. I am very happy with what I see and hear on stage. May this production have a long life in Estonia! 🍾🥂🫶

Good days in Sitges, Spain, teaching & participating in the professional panel @iabarcelona Always a great pleasure meeting graduating musical theatre students from all over the world. Arts Education is very close to my heart and there are no better people to work with than eager and hungry theatre students.

On top of meeting these lovely graduates, I had the great pleasure to meet many enthusiastic and theatre-loving industry professionals who joined me in the panel. I made a bunch of nice new friends and relationships, and I hope it won’t take too long until we meet again 🫶

Thank you @adriabaulenasbardia for arranging this visit, and thank you @mt6_iab for having me and giving your everything these past days. Go for it!! Enjoy the profession.

Les Misérables @vanemuine @harjannecompany
Opening Night 25/11/2017
Final Performance 19/12/2025

I have been involved with this amazing project since 2016, soon for 10 years. When I first received the offer for directing a new original production of Les Misérables, I was shaken and beyond excited. I never imagined I would be able to see this production 8 years after its official premiere. And today marks the final performance of our loved and emotional show.

This production was my very first big title to direct, and marked my Estonian debut. I have made several friendships that matter and exist today, and I feel we are a family. I am overwhelmingly proud of this journey, and strangely emotional to close one of the productions that have been around for almost my entire professional career as a director.
