Happy International Children's Day! 🌈❤️🍀

Sharing a few portraits of children I've painted, my own and others, using the screenprint-monotype technique. I remember and loved creating each piece. Thank you for this ❤️

Using a copy of the Book of Common Prayer from @hamhousent’s archives as a starting point, @thestoryboxcollective member @samuelofthehill’s vividly engaging work explores print techniques and woodcut styles, pairing them with a fictional poem by an anonymous author. The poem takes the reader on a feverish ghost tour—never quite sure what will jump out around the next corner:

“Beginning with the central question—what haunts us?—I’m interested in how knowledge, fear, and belief in 17th-century England were shaped by the technologies and histories of printed media.

Seventeenth-century print culture, much like today’s social media, blurred the lines between truth and fiction. With the advent of the printing press, pamphlets and tracts widely disseminated ideas. They expressed political unrest leading to the Civil War, but also stoked fears of witches, ghosts, and evil spirits. In the layered histories of Ham House, I find echoes of today—plague, political unrest, misinformation, and moral panic.”

Be sure not to miss @samuelofthehill’s stunning work which sits majestically on display in the library and the Dairy @hamhouse as part of the exhibition:
The Still House: Plants, Potions and Power which runs until this Friday 10 October.

New EP is on the way

broken drum sticks,
raw vocal chords…
Garbled glitch fuzz

objects shifting across the room
subsonic vibration

that numb ear muffled sound of such intense listening

the tip of Jon’s shoe hitting metal casing
everything goes crazed
the fine lines of mixing
and making

Such happy times working on this music, we hope you all enjoy it. Keep an eye on our feed for releases. Feel free to DM for sneaky peeks

(BTW the poem was Matt’s idea 😜) such kitsch BS!
