Them Creatine gummies whooped my ass today. Felt super dizzy + nauseous. I read up that I need to hydrate more prior to taking them (I know I should be drinking at least a gallon a day). I also think the bottle directive of 4 servings is way too high for my BMI… idk it’s trial + error with every wellness journey. I’ll try again tomorrow ! 🤷🏽‍♀️ whatcha think Coach?

Thank you to @striive.usa for challenging my inner coach + team player all at once ⭐️

This experience reminded me that I can do hard things, regardless of how long they take. Run your OWN RACE.

The mindset I chose that day was simple: finished the race and don’t leave my partner behind. Sometimes the biggest win isn’t how fast you can finish… it’s choosing to keep going, keep showing up, and keep moving forward together.

My first time completing:
• 400M Burpee Broad Jumps
• 400M Lunges
• 400M Bear Crawls
• 400M Run

A reminder that the body may get tired, but the right mindset can carry you further than you think. 🧠✨

Do hard things. Take your time. Don’t quit.

Lastly, big shout out @eyezonskye for joining in with us for moral support in finishing our race. We were the only women out there! 🧡

Sunday showed me a different type of motivation.

12 people. One mile. No shortcuts. Just grit, teamwork, ambition, and the willingness to keep fighting when your body is telling you to stop.

We sweated, cramped, struggled, and pushed through every second of it — but nobody quit. And that’s what made this more than just a challenge. It brought us closer together and reminded us what we’re capable of when we choose to fight together.

Shoutout to everyone who showed up and completed the World’s Hardest Mile. You earned that finish. 🫡

Part 2: A Love Letter to Howard

Dear Howard,

There’s a reason why they call it the Mecca. People travel all over the world to attend this prestigious university. But let me tell you, it isn’t for the faint of heart. Everyone wants to be a Bison, but not everyone makes it out with the herd. To be quite honest, if it wasn’t for my cohort, I would’ve been taken out by the stampede. Everyone I met was real, brilliant, supportive, and rooted in purpose. From late nights, to laughter, to holding each other through life outside of school… that kind of community can’t be taught.

I learned that social work is not neutral. Through the Black Perspective, I was taught through a lens of Affirmation, Strength, Diversity, Inclusion, Social Justice, and Internationalization. A positive and vivifying stance that centers history, culture, and lived experience for all communities, especially those who have been marginalized. Healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum, it happens in the context of oppression, resilience, and community.

You gave me experiences I’ll carry for the rest of my life. From providing therapy with Whitman-Walker, where I stepped into the role of clinician and learned what it truly means to hold space… to traveling across the world on a service learning trip to South Africa, where I was reminded that this work is global, connected, and deeply human.

Howard, you are history. And now, because of you, I’m part of it. As a Latino man, I now stand among the 7% who have earned a master’s degree. That’s bigger than me.
