The final day of San Diego Climate Week Year Two is here, and we are going out with everything we've got. 🌊💚 Day 8 opens early and wide. At 7AM, join us on Zoom for Climate Weeks United: Share, Learn & Grow with organizers from LA and San Diego Climate Week, an open conversation for anyone building or dreaming of building a regional Climate Week. Simultaneously, Rotary clubs are connecting across borders in Bonsall for climate action without borders. By 8AM, community stewards are already at Grant Park with San Diego River Park Foundation, and HandsOn San Diego and More Than Apples are back in Escondido for another full day of food sorting and distribution, a thread of food justice that has run through every single day of Climate Week. 🙏 As the morning unfolds, Climate Conscious Leaders host a virtual masterclass on rewiring user habits for a climate-forward future, Lindsay Biedel leads a guided field trip through the Jacumba Mountains and In-Ko-Pah Gorge to witness wildlife crossings in action, Kiln Rancho Bernardo opens its doors all day for climate community coworking, and SDSU's sustainability commission hosts a tabling fair on campus. The Surf Del Mar Festival brings surfing and sustainability together in Del Mar, free mulch and compost continue flowing in Rancho Santa Fe, and the afternoon brings a virtual conversation on mosquitoes and infectious disease from La Jolla Institute for Immunology, an online planetary truth and consequences talk from 1% for the Planet, and the final day of our SDCW Art Gallery at The Sea House in Encinitas from Noon–4PM. This is Part 1 — stay tuned for Part 2 covering this afternoon and tonight's People Summit closing celebration. 👇 🔗 See all Day 8 events at https://san-diego.climate-week.org/ 📸 Tag us and use #SDCW26 — it's the last day, make it count! #SanDiegoClimateWeek #Day8 #ClimateAction #SanDiego

Day 7 of San Diego Climate Week and today is California Clean Air Day. 🌬️🌿 We are one day away from the finish line and San Diego is still showing up in full force. Today's lineup is as diverse and dynamic as this city itself, from a volunteer morning at Barron Creek Farm in Oceanside and a casual climate coworking session in North Park, to a deep dive into what happens to retired technology, a Council of All Beings workshop near the border, and a clean energy panel at Bivouac Adventure Lodge. This afternoon, Scripps Institution of Oceanography brings together leading scientists at Scripps Seaside Forum to break down what San Diego should expect from the incoming El Niño, a conversation every San Diegan needs to hear. As the evening arrives, the options are everywhere. Catch a screening of The True Cost followed by an upcycle workshop downtown, try your hand at no-sew quilt art at San Diego Made Factory, join a wildlife and climate trivia night at Pure Project North Park, explore how housing policy connects to climate policy, learn about the health impacts of wildfires and extreme temperatures in Del Mar, go face to face with mountain lions — figuratively — at Mission Trails Regional Park, and close out the night at the Cali-Baja Exchange with the International Community Foundation. And of course, tonight is the SDCW Air Summit at Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park from 5:30–8:00 PM. EV test drives, a live clean air panel, free tapas, live music, massages, and a closing performance by the Spreckels Organist. Get there the climate-friendly way, join the BikeSD group ride departing from Old Trolley Barn Park at 4:45PM or catch the RideSD bus from Replay Toys Boutique starting at 4:30PM. 🚲🚌 Seven days in and this community continues to inspire us beyond words. Thank you San Diego. 🙏 ⚠️ Reminder, the Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through tomorrow at 8PM. Please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and be mindful at any outdoor events today. Find cooling centers at sandiego.gov/PlacesToCoolDown. 🔗 See all Day 7 events at https://san-diego.climate 🌬️ RSVP for the Air Summit: https://luma.com/3qrwd1c3 📸 Tag us and use #SDCW26, one more day!
