What if we’re so busy trying to LIVE LONGER that we’re forgetting to LIVE DEEPER? 👀

Peptides. Supplements. Biohacks. Longevity protocols.

I’m all for science and human optimization. Trust me.

But here’s what I think we’re missing…

SILENCE. STILLNESS. AWE. GRATITUDE. CONNECTION.

The stuff that doesn’t come in a bottle, require a subscription, or need an upgrade.

We’ve become obsessed with adding years to our lives while forgetting to add LIFE to our years.

Sometimes the ultimate biohack is to STOP hacking.

Get outside. Look up. Breathe. Be amazed. Be HUMAN.

Because the goal isn’t just to live longer. It’s to FEEL more ALIVE while we’re here. 🙏🏽✨

Presence > Optimization.

Welcome to the NOW.🌻

On World Mental Health Day, I’m sharing a few moments from my weekend at @canyonranch as a Canyon Ranch Voices ambassador.

Taking care of ourselves includes how we feel on the inside. 🤍 At 61, my approach to aging well includes caring for my emotional well-being alongside my physical health. Making time to slow down, connect with others and check in with myself is something I’m learning to prioritize.

That’s part of what draws me to Canyon Ranch—the casual, welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful, holistic approach to feeling your best, and the opportunity to bring that perspective into everyday life.

Today is also a reminder to check in on someone you love, make space for honest conversations and reach for support when you need it. We all deserve to feel heard and supported.

What helps you feel grounded? I’d love to hear. 🤍

Walking with controlled breathing improves exercise tolerance, anxiety, and quality of life in heart failure patients | European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing
—
“Since patients with heart failure have reduced respiration rates, they can benefit from improving their oxygen exchange and breathing capacities at rest and during exercise. Slow breathing increases oxygen concentration, lung ventilation and perfusion, and exercise tolerance; it also reduces the chemoreflex response of sympathetic nerves. In particular, controlled breath rates between 6–10 beats per min improve ventricular injection volume, pulmonary artery pressure, and cardiac function.”

“Self-perceived physical and psychological feelings are reflected by an interoceptive awareness, which affects an individual’s adaptions to disease and life. Bodily self-awareness is a pressure detection tool that explores body clues. A growing number of medical and behavioral science studies have revealed that increased self-awareness can predict a patient’s potential inner health problems such as stress and maladaptation. Properly applied, interoceptive awareness allows patients to improve their moods and motivate their efforts toward recovery. Interoceptive awareness interventions can enhance the self-regulation of attention and emotional function. If awareness of breathing status and regulation of respiratory rates and breathing patterns are understood, patients with heart failure can increase physical activity.“

“The findings of this randomized, controlled study indicate that a 12-week WwB intervention effectively improved tolerance to physical activity and oxygen saturation in patients with heart failure. The findings also reveal that as patients began to trust their interoceptive awareness, their anxiety and QoL were improved. WwB is easily and rapidly learned by patients, who are likely to practice it on a more regular basis in daily life. Patients in this study also learned to be aware of their inner body by engaging in WwB.”

The future of performance lies in understanding the connection between the brain and the body.
ㅤ
We’re proud to be part of this upcoming webinar with the Global Wellness Institute, where the focus shifts from doing more to understanding more. As modern life places increasing demands on our nervous system, the ability to measure, regulate and optimise how we respond has never been more important.
ㅤ
@sukhsense will be joining the conversation with @sandyabrams to explore how brain mapping, breathwork and data-led insights are shaping a new standard in wellbeing. This is where neuroscience meets real-world application, giving individuals the ability to both feel and measure change.

You have to see it to believe it - as soon as I stepped foot on the property I felt my shoulders drop from my ears, and my body took a much needed exhale. Every experience was top notch. Until next time, @canyonranch 🌵
