'Situated within global conversations on materials and making, this student-produced exhibition unveils a showcase of craft processes and material experimentation rooted in the political and the environmental.

A Common Thread presents student, staff and graduate practitioners whose work is grounded in a sustained and physical engagement with materials; with ideas flourishing from a place of ethical, collaborative and community-informed practice.

While creativity expands into digital and augmented worlds, craft and tactility remains central within the contemporary creative space. The exhibition navigates this through the diverse disciplines of Central Saint Martins: from those engaged with the preservation of ancestral practices, to those experimenting with emerging technologies.

Across more than 30 displays, public programming, interactive sculpture and written matter, we are invited to reflect on the origins, techniques and responsibilities connected to these materials and methods.'

'A Common Thread' at the @lethabygallery has now been open to the public for almost two months, with these next two weeks being its last when it closes its doors on the 26th of April. It has been so wonderful to work with so many talented creatives.

Our new #UALShowcase collection 'Folklore Renessaince', curated by @thefolkarchive, is a testament to the statement that folklore is created by the people for the people, with new generations creatively exploring how folk can help us to connect with and make sense of the world we live in now.

Expressed through a diverse range of disciplines – from puppetry to photography, and fashion to textiles – the collection is a contemporary take on the folk imagination.

HUMANS 2024 capsule collection in London features one-of-a-kind garments printed on second-hand fast fashion. @savestudios_official

This collection sheds light on the experiences of trans women in Thailand, delving into the myriad challenges they encounter. The accompanying video showcases interviews with trans women spanning diverse professions in Thailand and Malaysia, along with narratives from trans women residing in the UK. Moreover, it underscores the prevalent tendency within Thai entertainment to trivialize and caricature trans women.
