I'm lucky to work with narrator Sara Sheckells @sara_sounds She 'gets' me, if you know what I mean. She has an ease with my writing. She is empathetic, rooted, and strong. I love her work...so much so, I cast her in two of my other books: PRIMAL and THE KNOWING. Listen to this excerpt from The Narrator's Handbook 2. This essay talks about how storytelling (narration & writing) can transport us to new places, offering hope and healing. #NH2

If you need your cup refilled today you’re in the right place, friend

It started two days ago with one simple thread: I wanna hear pivot stories from women over the age of 40 who took a scary leap into the unknown and are better for it

If you’re new here, I’m about to turn 46 and pivot once again in life, this time into a career in insurance which is a wild departure from my previous career experiences in radio and as a content creator but one that will offer me the flexibility I want at this point in life. I’ll never stop creating content and sharing my life on social media, I love it too much, but let’s be real - this place doesn’t offer benefits or a retirement plan and I refuse to work until the day I die

I don’t do well with change and I’m nervous, but also super excited about the opportunity to flex my brain and learn something new

These responses and the hundreds of others have me feeling invincible right now and I hope they do the same for you

I’ve tagged the commenters I was able to locate on this platform. Tap the photos and show them some love 🫶🏻

✨ EDIT - due to the response to this concept I’ve decided to make this a series. Feel free to check my latest posts for more and don’t forget to submit your pivot stories by DM’ing me

#audies2026 ✨✨✨
Just getting home from a week in NY and NJ and couldn’t be happier.
📚🎙️🎧
Spent three and a half days in NJ at @audible with ashleyemarshall and the rest of the fabulous Audible team recording a REALLY great book coming later this spring.
🌆🌃🌇🏙️
Then it was off to NYC to spend some time with some of my favorite humans and celebrate the audiobook community at the Audie Awards.
🏆🏅
Loved every minute of it - especially the parts where no one asked me what was for dinner for a WEEK. BLISS, people. Pure bliss.
🍽️🍽️🍽️
Congratulations to all the nominees, the winners, and every single one of us that goes to work every day in service of a story.
✨♥️✨♥️✨

What a wonderful time we had at The Audies!

So proud of the love of my life, @seanpatrickhopkins, and his nomination, along with @leojo3 for The End of the World As We Know It: New Tales of Stephen King’s The Stand edited by @christopher_golden and @brian_keene and produced by @simon.audio!

The Audies is always a beautiful night, celebrating storytelling and the amazing and talented people who bring these stories to your ears. I feel so lucky to be part of this wonderful community of lovely humans. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners!

I wish I took a million more photos, but there was so little time, so much to do… 🎉🥂
