Ryle is a Filipino artist who establishes Sugbuanon Realism as the foundation of his practice, foregrounding everyday rituals + personal memory over inherited colonial aesthetics. Working across painting, printmaking, sound, + installation, he uses intimate mark-making and scratch-based techniques to translate memory into layered visual + sensory archives.

And suddenly 2 years have passed.
Coming to the Burrow shifted my life, not just with work but my personal life as well. I have seen growth in my work that had once seemed immaterial. I am so grateful to the mentorship my brothers have offered me and the friendships and memories that I have created.

Thank you to our voyaging captain for providing us a peaceful and conducive environment to make art.

You are all inspiring 🧡
