I help any beekeeper who needs hands on help 🥰🐝

If you're not sure what's going on in your hive, if you've seen something weird, or just need hands on help - that's what I do 😁

Beekeeping is more of an art than a science so it sometimes requires an artistic approach 😉 each colony needs it's own diagnosis and plan

If someone tells you that you MUST do a certain beekeeping thing - make sure they have a legitimate reason why 🙄

I teach all my students to question the advice they're given. Just because someone has been beekeeping longer, or with more hives, doesn't mean their advice will suit your beekeeping journey.

I always give my clients the reasoning behind all my suggestions, often giving them all the options and possible outcomes.

It's your hive, it's your decision.

Check out my book, specifically for hobbyists in Aotearoa, for some good general advice. Find it on my website SarahCsBees.co.nz and sold through @ecrotek

And if you need more Why's, I've got loads 😉

Happy Beekeeping everyone 😘

Ps Im not sure if Ecrotek sends to other parts of the world so if you're desperate for a copy message me and I'll sort it 😉😘

Day 1 hanging with the students from @hvhsofficial
Tried our best to find invertebrates in the river but there was too much saltwater! Talked about how different organisms live in different niches and why we couldn't find any insects in the estuary, aswell as stream health indicators and biodiversity. We will try for more insects tomorrow!!!

If you are just starting on your beekeeping journey I would highly recommend this amazing book! It's written especially for hobby beekeepers in NZ (but is still cool to read for anyone else!). It covers all aspects of beekeeping, from hive placement to honey harvesting. Each section is divided into Musts, Shoulds, Coulds, and Must Nots! Because we don't want you doing anything that would hurt your colony 😬🐝❤️
Book is available @ecrotek and the link is in my bio 👍
Message if you have any questions or drop a review 😁😁😁 oh, I wrote it btw 😉

Beekeeping in spring and early summer is the best time 😍🐝 honeybees are so intent on collecting nectar that they pretty much ignore you 🤷 I was in my hive checking if the new queen was laying and doing her job properly. I'm starting a consulting business this year for beekeepers here in Aotearoa so chuck me a like and a follow and I'll be happy to assist you with any beekeeping questions 😊😊😍🐝
