What a season!

A huge thank you to our artists, volunteers, supporters, friends, families and community members who made Encinitas Arts Alive 2026 so special.

The level of talent on display this year was truly incredible!

Thank you to everyone who attended the auction, cheered on our artists and helped support art in our community.

We’re already counting down the days until next year.

Congrats Brenda Dizon for curating a fantastic program!

Aura-Soma is a self-selective, non-intrusive system of color, plant, and crystal energies designed to support personal well-being and self-awareness. Created in the 1980s by British holistic practitioner Vicky Wall, the system uses dual-colored “Equilibrium” bottles containing essential oils, herbal extracts, and crystal tinctures. My friend @tarateipel owner of @lemongrasscenter is an Aura Soma practitioner. This therapy is right up my alley for obvious reasons ;) and syncs in such a lovely way with how my creative practice fosters my well-being. A dedicated art journal spread honors all of this.

Here are my finished flower pot cradle board creations for #julyfodderschool5 with @sooz_rossiter. Wow! Has this month been full of amazing learning! I am so thrilled to have some new techniques to use in my creative practice, but also really happy to be making some wall art, which is not my usual habit! I think I’ll hang these as a tryptic in a bathroom full of white and gray. That should brighten things up a bit. You can still join the fun in Fodder School 5. Link in bio to register.

I told myself, “Self, you must not turn your art studio into chaos again until you get back from Miramar,” but self had other ideas late until all hours of the night! It is all @sarahjgardner’s fault!!! Enjoying bonus lessons, with Sara in Fodder School 5! Me thinkest something beautiful cometh your way! Had a great time, with crushed chunky blue and white glass, crushed shell, tiny shells, iridescent glitter, mini sequins, rust, and you name it! #mixedmedia #mixedmediaart #julyfodderschool5 #artskins

Playing around with acrylic skins for #julyfodderschool5 with @sooz_rossiter was a ton of fun. I added glitter to clear gel and then layered that on top of colored fodder to create some interesting and fun effects. And the truth is, everything is better with glitter! You can still enroll in Fodder School 5 and get in on all the fun. Check out the link in my bio for registration information.

Thank you @sooz_rossiter for the amazing inspiration this month in Fodder School! From the meditative creation of colorful painted papers, to experiments with acrylic skins, to layering fun colors for pretty little flowers, and playing with glitter….my experience was just full of joy! Fodder School 5 is full of joy, too! Loads of inspiration and learning from amazing artists is available for purchase and you can start where you are, work at your own pace, and experience the joy of creating something you love. Day 70/100: procrastination, probably everyone struggles with it from time to time. I certainly do that is why I made this little booklet to help me get started.

But ironically I procrastinated a lot while creating this booklet

Inspired by the mini Zine of @sarahjgardner

Here’s a full flip through of all the prompts I completed for Messy May. I really enjoyed the time I spent in my handmade journal following these prompts. It was no pressure and all joy, and I allowed myself to take a few extra days to complete some of them. So, finally done, here it is! Thank you to Get Messy and all the artists who facilitated last month! You really inspired me!

Just a sneak peek into my Messy May 2026 art journal. Working on a flip through of all the prompts I completed. I like that I can post a longer video here, now. What do you think of that? Are you watching full length or scrolling through? I’m doing a bit of both based on my interests and what I find inspiring. This page is for the prompt “Outside” with Jessy Kaschig.

I’ve been bitten by the organizing bug. I have a tendency to want to save things for something “good”. I’ve learned that if it is something that I can use creatively, then it’s good. I used a printable from @sarahjgardner and covered this box that I bring with me when I go to the art store. I keep a sheet of some type of cushion in it and then when I buy individual supplies that may break easily I have a place where I can keep them safe until I get home and break them as I put them into their storage spot.
