NYC here I come! 💌

Very excited to table at MoMA PS1 for Printer Matter's New York Art Book Fair this September!

Because NYC was Lee G. Brewster's home, I've decided to include a casual open call for people to come to my booth and chat or tell me stories about the amazing publisher of Drag Queens Magazine & organizer of the Queens Liberation Front movement in the 70s. I'm fascinated with his work and while he published so many zines and seemed to be very connected, there's little documentation of his real life connections. So if you knew him, please come by for a chat at booth A32 in the zine section!

I'll be bringing the usual mix of photo zines documenting the queerclash drag punk scene in Berlin and restored reprints from the queer archives from the 60s to the 90s as well as a couple of new titles - Corazón's spellbinding performance at SWEAT, Sheena is queerclash with drag queens taking over the streets with a free show while RuPaul DJed in an Arena next door & a restored reprint of Lee G. Brewster's Mardi Gras Ball from 1974.

Can't wait to see friendly faces and meet new people!

For my whole life I felt like I could only see “good times” once I remembered them, always with a feeling of “saudade. Saudade is a very specific feeling that is a bit like longing and melancholy together but also belonging. Saudade to me is what you feel about someone who makes you feel home.

I’m not a bad bunny fan but the “dtmf” is real, I should take more photos, there are so many people that I wanted to include here, and their presence amazes me so much that I never want to ruin it with photos, but then again it became saudade, saudade of pictures that I did not take.

Everyone who knows me knows that I don’t believe in separation between me and my work, my private and public life, love and hate, fear and courage, art and science: They’re all two sides of the same thing to me.
And it’s exactly there where I feel the most blessed:

I get to work with people that make me feel home. I been getting to work with friends and people I look up to. Moving around this world still terrifies me but I been so happy every time I was on my way to you. Everyone who isn’t on these pics, my friends in Zurich, Vienna, Basel and most of all Berlin: Please let’s take more pics together.

For the first time: Good times are here and I can see it.
And just to let you know, I learned that them good times will never come, we have to create it by effort. So, if anybody isn’t able to make good times with me now, please let’s meet in the future, because for the first time, there will be no form of relationship that will have the permission to ruin the immense feeling of thankfulness that I feel.
