I was so intimidated by the faces prompt but the video by @sashafitzgerald made it feel less scary. Building up layers of the faces with the collage background and paint markers was fun and it felt really intuitive. This won’t be the last time I do this technique. I loveeee the texture the collage gives so much!!

Do it scared. You’ll be fine. (I’m telling myself this but this is also for any of you who are nervous weird Nellies like me)

These days I tend to decorate as I go- or, I go back and cover empty spaces with washi and stickers.
Practicality first, aesthetics second.

I used to be the complete opposite though. I felt like I wouldn’t use my journal if it wasn’t visually appealing, and maybe that was true for me at the time. But now, most of my pages look nothing like this!

I didn't exactly put the paperclip in the position I wanted but they will still work and do for now. Gonna make another set. Thank you to @sashafitzgerald for sharing her YouTube tutorial on these. I have blast making them.

Here's my spread for the #halloweenjournalchallenge2023 Haunted Coffee Shop. I loved cutting things out and layering it all up. Getting collagey! It was fun. This challenge definitely is a challenge for me but I'm loving it!

I wanted to keep it simple for Friday and Saturday and let these beautiful witchy girls be the main focus. Girls and pumpkins were drawn by @sashafitzgerald Thank you for the Halloween freebie printable. I painted boxes for them to sit on.

Happy Journaling 👻

I finished my second large painting for this series! There’s so many details to take in! 😄 I love combining abstract and figurative elements together.

This piece ‘Fly Free’, is 10 x 14 inches, mixed media on paper, and will be a part of my March Collection drop. Join my mailing list (link in my bio) to get notified when the launch is here. 💜☺️
