To my sisters, friends, every woman reading this, and to all the men out there who love their women (send them to IWS) -

We are living in a world where women are under attack. We experience it in the news, in our neighborhoods, sometimes in our own homes… and every facet of our lives. And so many of us have learned to live like this.

I don’t want that for you or me. We deserve to feel strong. We deserve to feel protected. We deserve to walk through this world and not feel afraid all of the time - or any of the time!

That’s why I’m asking you to look into SASSGO’s I Will Survive Weekend. It was built by a survivor, Shannon Henry, who turned her own story into a mission to make sure other women and girls never have to feel powerless the way she once did.

For one weekend at The Sawmill in Laurens, SC, women 17+ come together to learn real self-defense, personal security, firearm safety, and the kind of resilience and strength training that stays with you long after the weekend ends - taught by the most incredible instructors who’ve spent their careers in law enforcement, the military, and SWAT.

You’ll learn to look for the warning signs before danger finds you. You’ll learn what to do if it does. And you’ll leave standing a little taller, a little braver, surrounded by women who have your back.

If you want to get a taste of who you’ll learn from and what you’ll carry home with you. Episodes 263-267 of The 1 Girl Revolution Podcast, we sat down with the women and men behind this INCREDIBLE weekend:

    • Episode 263: SASSGO - Shannon Henry + Brett Brown - 1girlrevolution.com/sassgo
    • Episode 264: SASSGO - Micki, Mesa, & Ellen - 1girlrevolution.com/sassgoinstructors
    • Episode 265: Fortis Tactical - Teena Gooding - 1girlrevolution.com/teenagooding
    • Episode 266: Lindsey Pilkington Memorial Foundation - Olyn Sexton - 1girlrevolution.com/olynsexton/
    • Episode 267: Hamilton Security Group - James Hamilton - 1girlrevolution.com/jameshamilton

What a night.

To every sponsor, every guest, every vendor, every supporter, our fearless emcee, our incredible band, our unbelievable artist, and our amazing Board, thank you for showing up and continuing the mission with us.

To those who shared their stories in the 2026 On The Banks gala film soon to be released, thank you. Your courage is changing lives and prompting hearts now and into the next generations.

And to the room full of people who loved deeply, listened closely, celebrated fully, and became builders of The Banks, your light shines in the darkness and it cannot be overcome. THIS is how we protect the tribe.

Let’s build The Banks. 🪏

They arrived from seven states - VA, SC, NC, MI, GA, OH, and MA - each woman stepping onto the property with her own experiences, goals, and courage.

Over our I Will Survive Weekend, they embraced powerful new skills in self-defense, situational awareness, threat assessment, cyber security, firearms safety, and resiliency. These skills didn’t just train their bodies, they awakened something deeper: clarity, confidence, and an unshakeable sense of capability.

And then there was the magic between the moments.
The way they cheered for one another.
The way laughter and joy poured out during karaoke.
The way strangers became sisters around a fire, s’mores in hand and stars overhead.

It was warm. It was wild. It was healing. And it will stay with them and us- shaping the women they are becoming, and the women they will lead, protect, and love.

This is the heart of the Sassterhood: women gathering strength and skills and passing it on to #protectthetribe as they rise.

And now each one leaves carrying this truth, etched into her spirit:
She is always worth fighting for and so are you!

They don’t all come in ready to shoot or fight for their lives. They don’t all come in knowing situational awareness or how to assess a threat. Many arrive carrying bruises left by people, circumstances, and life itself. Some don’t know or have never know that they are worth fighting for.

So we start there.
Rebuilding slowly.
Steadily.
Intentionally.

Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. From the moment their feet touch the floor in the morning until their tired bodies finally rest at night, we pour into them. Skill by skill. Layer by layer. Confidence, voice, boundaries, clarity, strength, and truth.

And none of it happens without a team that keeps working even as the women sleep.
Cooking for the 6 a.m. breakfast.
Prepping equipment before sunrise.
Resetting and cleaning training spaces.
Fine-tuning lessons to meet individual needs.
Sometimes staying up late to sit with someone who just needs a little extra support to make it through the night.

This cadre of leaders doesn’t come for money (there isn’t any).
They don’t come for spotlight (there isn’t one).
They come because transforming a woman to a place where she understands and owns her strength and dignity is sacred work.
They come because every woman deserves to remember her power, her purpose, her kindness, her protection, and her worth.
And every woman deserves to know - deep in her bones - that she is always worth fighting for.

This is the I Will Survive Weekend.
This is our special team.
And this is why we show up. Every single time.

Our deepest thanks to our incredible firearms team: @teenagooding_, Mike, @linz_foundation, Jonathan, and @createyourself2014. Special thanks to @sassgohaylee, @sassgoliz, @sassgomadeline, and @shelby_with_sassgo for self defense training and so much more. Special thanks to Skipper, the SASS dog, for letting us all find calm and peace with him. Special thanks to @shopsimplyregal for creating the most spectacular earrings to honor each woman’s hard work. Thank you to the @thesawmilltc for hosting us safely, to Grace’s, and to our Board and donors including @sparrish1 and @hope_whitesides for helping us raise the funds for much needed scholarships. So grateful!

I survived one bad 🫏 women’s weekend!

My dear friend Megan and I have been stranded in the Carolinas since yesterday, and all we keep talking about is every single moment from #IWS2025 — and how this weekend truly TRANSFORMED our lives. 💪✨

I’m so honored to have learned, laughed, and grown alongside so many incredible women. And I am so grateful to the most incredible instructors who EMPOWERED us and INSPIRED US! Thank you to SASSGO and the instructors for creating such a powerful weekend for women to find their courage and confidence - and to every single woman who said “YES!” to this life-changing weekend.

Watch out world - we’re coming back stronger, braver, and fiercer than ever! 🔥
