It’s a funny thing seeing your idea come to life… latest creative director / director work for @knucks_music When I first heard this song, the message spoke with me heavily. Everyone knows my first name is a bait English name, but I do have a Nigerian name (Folorunso). And I remember being young and shying away from my Nigerian name 🤦🏿‍♂️. A lot of Africans faced assimilation challenges tbh, I never went as far as claiming 🇯🇲🤣 but there were times when people would ask me what it was and I would say “nah that’s not for social settings”. Looking back on it now, it feels dumb because my identity is for every setting I’m in pls lol. Anyway I love the poetic ending of this song that speaks to themes of cultural acceptance across Knucks’ whole album. Very mature body of work and I’m happy a played a part (-people it is “a part” not “apart” don’t let the English language beat your bum like this) in the visual storytelling of it.
